Same ban as Bailey Smith? seems fair...

Tend to agree, if Bailey Smith only gets two weeks, that is an absolute joke.

Didn’t Lachie Whitfield get massive penalty for similar?

Was thinking would be rest of season at least. Seem to be playing the Mental Health card which I hate.

In fairness Bailey-Smith hit an Irishman and they can't be hurt. ;)

Whitfield got done for dodging a drug test didn't he?
And from memory it was a lot of weeks.
I think it should be 4 minimum for Bailey Smith.

Reckon it will be 2 games, will be interesting decision

Ended up getting the two game suspension, spot on decision :D
How is that 2 weeks? Free kick down field was all it needed.

Luke Beverage is correct about the policy, it's certainly doesn't working at all.

I'm not sure what the AFL is wanting from it or what they want it to be but it's not working at the moment.

Watched the Melb v Collingwood game last night on Kayo, was a bloody good game. How impressive were Collingwood.

A few things that's Collingwood would be enjoying:
They won without Grundy.
How well does Nick Daicos use the ball for a first year player.
Mason Cox only plays well in big games lol

They want to act like their doing something about drugs in the game but deep down they dont want to open the flood gates as they would know it runs real real deep and all clubs and many many players would get dragged into it.

The drug policy should reflect what happens in the real world.
Most workplaces you get one chance.
Test positive again and you're goneski.

In all positive drugs cases the media should not be allowed to write/talk about it on the first offence.
Should be strict confidentiality enforced.
Any leakers within the club, media or management team lose their accreditation.
Managers are always going to advise their client to pull the mental health card because once its in the media all hell breaks loose for the player.

Hardwick and Goodwin on 360 last night put it well, the policy hasn't changed for years, the expectations from the clubs and the pressures on players has. Time for the system to be over hauled.

Yeah sure play the man here. All I am saying is that it's not working.

What do we want from this policy and how does it need to be changed to move with modern issues?

If you think it's working then sure no worries.

Beveridge is right though, get caught once then "mental health" and nothing further can happen to the player.
