R12 Central v North

Postby DOC » Tue Jun 21, 2022 12:55 pm

Saturday 2.10

Centrals coming off a great win and will be sweating on the availability of McCormack.

First time around North won by 43 points and have split the last 4 games at Elizabeth 2 each.

BIG test for Centrals. For me the endeavour has been there all year. Young sides are always inconsistent. Comes with the territory.

BIG test also for North. I thought their pacy players two weeks ago are as big a weapon as there is at the moment. Could be the key.

North by a goal.

If we can replicate the way we played against the Eagles we are a chance but the big issue is if we can back it up.
If McCormack is out we again have no recognised ruckman .
North are top for a reason they have been great this year ,so i think we will find it tough to win.

This match was our surprise result of last season. Hopefully the boys can do it again on Saturday. If not, all I ask is another four-quarter effort like last week and, if we lose, knowing we were beaten by a better side rather than by a lack of effort on our part.

History suggests we will probably go and lose by 6 goals plus and put in a shocker.....when was the last time we won back to back games.

Fingers crossed though last week was the beginning of change and at very least we are super competitive this week, even if we go down by a few goals.

Flag favourites easily, too much run to break the lines and get through Centrals press from last week
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think we will be competitive for 3 quarters. North will be to clean with their skills.

I hope I’m wrong.

McCormack under a fitness cloud is worrying. As we have no replacements

Central won their last game (Rnd 14) of the 2020 COVID impacted season - The famous win with Hoskin kicking a goal after final siren

The Dogs then won Round 1 v North Adelaide in 2021 on their home soil - Obviously this is 2 wins bracketed over consecutive seasons

The last time Central won consecutive games, within the same season was 2019 - that will make it exactly 1,065 days this coming Saturday if the Dogs can cause back-to-back upsets of the year.

In Round 3 they beat West, followed by a Round 4 win against North - Last official time was a Round 14 over the Eagles and Round 15 over West in season 2019
