Finch 62 (85)

SL 4/292
Nissanka 137 (147)
Mendis 87 (85)
Richardson 2/39

Am I missing something?

Travis Head was tearing the Paki's a new one in the ODI's not long ago and now he finds himself in the lower/middle order?

Labuschagne is not an ODI player, CA is just denying someone else a chance to wear the yellow pyjamas.

We obviously have no real care about this series, we're not going to win many games with that bowling line up.

That's pretty standard for us isn't it....we normally play rubbish teams and try 100 players for 3 years and then the year of the world cup we actually get serious.

Yeah Australia basically plays all these bilateral series as glorified trial matches now in preparation for the World Cup.

As for Head he won't be opening full time with Warner and Finch still in the team but I'd like to see him batting 4 at least for the moment.

Didn't he open the batting for Aus A and hit a 100 as well last week?

Yes, made 110 from 86 opening with Phillippe in the second one day match against SL A on Friday June 10th.

Forth ODI on now, SL sent in by Finch and they're currently 3/105 from 22 overs.
Cummins in for Richardson is the only change for Aus.

SL finish all out for 258 from 49 overs.
Number 11 Theekshana running himself out on the last ball of the 49th over with Hasaranga ready to take the last over was a pretty funny way to end the innings.

Wouldn't see that in Port Pirie B grade, absolutely moronic play.

was a decent throw by Swepson
Dave Warner will be missed!

Labuschagne, just why do we pick him in this format?

He's rarely going to strike over 80 and he's taking someone's spot that will.

Rest him up for the tests, that's where we need him to fire, he'd have more want inside of him if we did too.

Can't really complain about anyone else in the line up, we've got it pretty right and we've always got to experiment with newbies.

The test matches in Galle will be played on a raging turner from day 1, so it's essential the Aussie bats see as much of the Lankan spinners as possible. ODIs aren't a priority.

McDermott should of been selected and should be playing ODI cricket ahead of Labuschagne IMO but SMG raises a very good point.

Yes, he's a very learned man when it comes to any level of cricket knowledge.

With Australia losing last night it means SL win the ODI series 3-1, their first home ODI win against Aus since 1992.

Hopefully he be fit for the first test, if he's not then Mitch Marsh will probably be his replacement unless any of Renshaw, Harris, Hunt, Maddinson or Phillippe stay in SL after they finish the current Aus A match.
