This in English team is incredibly imperfect but by God they have fully embraced the Stokes and Bax way of playing and honestly it's fun to watch. I'm happy they just have an identity now compared to just going around clueless as we have. There will be days we look stupid playing this way but hey we were shit trying to play conservative so I'm all for it.

England trail by 65 going into day 3, expecting Bairstow and Overton to keep going hard at NZ.

The six Stokes hit in his short and reckless innings was his 100th in test cricket, going equal with Adam Gilchrist. McCullum has the most with 107.

Not sure what to make of Williamson as NZ captain. Sure he's missed a test but does let the game get away from his team too often?

Eng chasing 296
1/17
Lees Run Out brilliantly by the Williamson / Boult combination.
Crawley basically just admiring his drive whilst Lees just wandered half way down the pitch from the Non Strikers end before he realised Crawley wasn't running and Williamson had the ball. Tried to get back but too late. Truly comical really

Bairstow 46 off 27 .... insane. Can't wait to see how they go against India this Friday.

Bairstow now has the second fastest 50, second fastest hundred and I think the second fastest 150 for England in test cricket. He needs to play more shots!

Amazing 113 runs in just over 60 minutes.
Watching Johnny Bairstow bat reminded me of how Sir Vivian Richards used to decimate bowling attacks.
Joe rampman Root sensational again.
NZ have been in the box seat every test and lost all 3 games.

Ollie Pope out in the first over for 82 with an undisciplined shot, a defensive push.

As WHUFC said a little while ago, 4th innings Test run chases are gettable due to limited over cricket influences.

Dunno if the new England can keep up this amazing brand of cricket up though , while it lasts its entertaining.

Will be interesting to see their approach on subcontinent decks, should be a great Ashes series next year.

NZ would be disappointed to not win a test, they were in good positions in all 3.

It's weird to think NZ had their opportunities to win each test considering how easily England won each match chasing in the forth innings.

Mitchell, Blundell and Boult kept NZ in it, Southee and the top 4 had a poor series.

Excellent start to the new regime. Big test this Friday against India. Still need two decent openers but honestly no clue where they get them from unless Cook feels like coming back.

How long do the selectors stick with Crawley if he continues to struggle? He'll play against India then does he get all of the South Africa series to come good and score some big runs? But if he gets dropped then who takes his spot? Burns? Ben Compton?
