From the beginning it seemed they were always going to find a way to give a Maxwell a test this series

Probably not a bad decision though to swap Starc. Whilst Maxwell could perform I don’t really like a bloke not getting a first class game going straight into the test side but it’s 2022 I guess.

Yeah agreed mate, see what happens come 1.30/2pm.

If they do go with Maxwell over Starc I assume Green is a good chance to take the new ball with Cummins (at least for 2/3 overs) which is something I look forward to seeing.

Agreed, this is the exact reason we push so hard to find a bloke that can bat in the top 6 and send down some medium-fast overs.
Also not unhappy with a batting lineup that has Maxwell coming in at 8. Plenty of depth for once.

Kick in the guts to those working their backsides off at SS level if Maxwell is picked

Yeah Cummins and Green to open in the first innings. Lyon and Cummins in the second innings

Agree, the guy doesn't want to play SS when available then wants to play test cricket

Sri Lanka with 3 debutants. Australia unchanged.

Aussies won the toss and are batting.

Your being a little disrepectful to Glenn Maxwell. He wasn't jumping up and down, saying "pick me, pick me". He was resigned to the fact his test career was over. It was the Australian selectors that pulled him out of left field and added him to the squad. So, question them, not Maxy.

Great delivery to knock over Warner .... angled in from around the wicket and just moved away, hitting top of off. Nowhere near as much turn as there was in the first test.

Plenty of runs on offer today if we remain patient.

Pitch isn’t doing anywhere near as much as first test and more than enough bad balls to sit on.

Played back and played down the wrong line to a ball that spun about 2 inches. Just a poor shot to an average ball.
