Eagles really poor from about the 10 minute mark of the 1st quarter through to half time. Glenelg got a sniff and once they got a run on, the Eagles couldn’t be bothered stopping them. Eagles started coming back in the 3rd and then an all-time brain fade from the 1st gamer Bruce, to gift Reynolds a goal. Should go straight back to Reserves after that. I turned it over at that point. Not surprising to see the Eagles get some goals with the wind after Glenelg were spent and the game was out of reach.

Two free kicks in the back and holding the ball yeah Nah it’s the Eagles…

HTB interpretation is comically one sided.

Some absolute howlers in that 3rd term. And for all that the bays are leading the free kick count!

A lot of those frees were out of bounds kicks.

We were so good being direct with our game style and attack on the footy and body (82 tackles) we started to get a bit cute in the last qtr and we paid the price. Good game to reinforce what works and what doesn’t for us. Looking forward to seeing us play “what works” footy from now on. Gives us a chance, REPEAT chance, of being there on the 3rd Sunday in Sept!

Our best is good enough, our worst, like we saw last wee, is not even finals worthy (as you expect when you got thrashed by the 7th team).

great response today, our first half was brilliant, rain in the third curtailed us somewhat and the foot went off the pedal in the last after kicking the first goal, 25pt margin flattered them in the end, back in the hunt!

I think you are being generous there. We were woeful from the first few minutes through to halfway through the third!! It barely entered out forward 50 that whole time. Bays just took the ball, ran hard and kicked long. We've got too many players in our midfield who are 'handball heavy' and, if they do decide to kick, do dinky little sideways kicks. Dylan Clarke - 8 kicks 19 handpasses being just one an example. He needs to flip that around.

I agree with some other comments that the final margin flattered us. But we showed in the last that we are certainly capable of playing very good footy when we are switched on mentally. Not quite sure what Sheedy can do here. He seems to have used Pudney and Beecken as the whipping boys this season when things haven't been going great. Think its time to consider making a bigger statement by looking at players like Lonergan and Mutch

I saw Pudney in the 2s and thought WTF, if you don’t want him I’ll have him in a heart beat at the Bays.

Much of what you said about the Eags applies to us too. When we become handball happy we look woeful too!

Like you our best is good enough, it’s what our boys rock up with to each game that makes it hard to be supporter.

I think the tone was set for us when Cole got up and over Redden at the first bounce, Snook got it and we had a fwd 50 entry inside 5 secs.

Would lay limited blame on D Menzel's game today eg we only had it in the forward 50 3 times in the first quarter and limited after that. Delivery to him was appalling due to our lack of skills, the wind and Gl pressure. His worst game for the year but certainly mitigating factors. He is allowed to have the odd game off but is clearly leading the Ken Farmer in an excellent season so far.

His performances are a result of team supply. Get it to him often enough and he consistently performs well. Even if we don’t get it to him enough, he can still perform well. Pink and the Glenelg defence certainly had it over him yesterday though. Eagles need to find other avenues to goal.

Congrats to Jimmy T, making the ton - deserved a better performance.

Snook brilliant as usual, and some enthusiastic, talented kids looked good. The Bays were certainly 'up' - given the topsy turvy form of most teams they could be right in it.

Seems to me that stopping him is a key in beating the eagles.
Llewellyn beat him hands down at Elizabeth and the Eags lost that one also.
Is he an old style FF who cannot offer any other role if needed?

TheEags haven't won a first quarter since Round 8 v sturt and the trend continued yesterday. We are continually playing catch up footy which is tough against the better sides. Gl used the conditions much better in the first half and that, combined with more desire by Gl helped to have the game over at half time. To make the finals now will be one of Sheed's biggest challenges in his time at the Eags. I have faith in the coach and the players to get themselves out of this rut starting this weekend.

Good chat on here

Eagles are still every chance to make the finals IMO, their last two against a south and Sturt are potential 4 point games.

I can see Eagles just pipping Sturt for that last spot.

Reality is you can make a case for the top six teams being there on the 3rd Sunday in Sept. Equally for those same six teams an argument can be made for them not pushing deep into the finals.

Out (ill) no dramas understandable

However, Eagles Nest should be on a Milk Carton though

Hasn’t been seen since the Digs visited Woodville

Interesting, there was one incident much worse than that that’s been missed.
Will Pearce should be buying a lotto ticket.

Problem being a couple of incidents were so far off the ball that the cameras did not pick them up.
