Part of the EBA or whatever you want to call it between the league and players.
Have to have a set amount of weeks off per season

Might have had a split round staggered over 2 weeks.

SANFLnow is a good product which has worked well this year without too many glitches, however one improvement would be the ability to show replays, particularly after goals when there is a good 40-50 seconds to dead time, why can't this be done easily? Watching some grassroots live streams they are able to do it and Im sure they don't have the resources of the SANFL

You're right Dutchy it is a good product but as you say with the various video capture programs around the ability to show replays during the broadcast shouldn't be overally difficult.

As someone 3000 km away I love the ability to be able to watch reserves and league SANFL footy with an occasional junior game chucked in.

If true and the SANFL pays $1m to seven for their broadcast of some of the SANFL games, maybe it's time to divert this money back to the 8 SANFL teams? The seven broadcast is okay for the casual observer sitting home waiting for the AFL game to come on. Doesn't really promote the SANFL, or bring in any revenue. True SANFL supporters, if they don't go to the games would be subscribing to SANFLnow anyway. If the ratings are okay as they've claimed in the past, maybe 7 would do it anyway (and continue to predominantly show the AFL reserves teams) at times that suit their AFL telecast times.

Wouldn't be too often the 3 top teams go into the finals coming off a loss?

North Adelaide has secured its eighth Stanley H. Lewis Trophy and first since 2014 as SANFL’s best performed club in 2022.

In the second year of points being awarded for Women’s and U16 matches, the Roosters finished with a significant tally of 3725, ahead of runner-up Sturt with 3525.

With their Hostplus SANFL League team winning its first minor premiership since 1989 and Reserves, Under-18 and Under-16 teams all qualifying for finals, the Roosters were also fuelled by their Women’s side, which claimed its second SANFLW premiership.

Glenelg tallied 3400 to round out the top three, edging out Norwood on 2900 in fourth and fifth-placed South on 2450.

North has previously won the Stanley H. Lewis Trophy in 1966, 1967, 1971, 1972, 2005, 2006, and 2014.

The Trophy, named after past SANFL Chairman Stanley Heathcote Lewis, has been awarded since 1962 to the club which has displayed excellence across all grades of football.

Points are awarded for each win across the minor round, with 100 points allocated for a Men’s and Women’s League victory, 50 points for the Reserves and Under-18s and 25 points for the Under-16s.

In the event of a draw, half of the points allocated for a win in that grade are awarded to each club involved.
