They'll also make handy profits knowing the energy provider has no choice but to pay them what they want.

Capitalism will rule and they'll find a way to make it just as expensive as coal or gas.

Its not, how can we make electricity cheaper, its how can we make a buck out of generating it.
Essentially that's what has been developed now. It's a business now and not an essential service. It's all a out making money.

Good god have a good look how AGL have been operating in SA for the last 10 years. They only just got there first $1.5mil fine for manipulating the market, by using a combination of sites and plying the Fcas market.

Also that's chump change for what they have made over that time.

It has to be a federal asset owned and operated, all the way from production to disposal.

You let the "market" dictate this and you are ******.

That simple.

I bought my first house in late 1968 when home loan rates were 7.5%
By 1978 they were 14%, and in 1983 my property loan rate was higher than the 12% I was paying for leasing a Porsche.

On the news this morning Albaneeze wants to hold a referendum next year for Australians to decide if they want to implement a voice in the Parliament for the Aboriginal population of Australia. Why especially now in the year 2022 in the current parliament there around a dozen parliamentarians of Aboriginal ancestry which i think is a good thing.

Chinese/Australians represent 5% of the Australian population Italian/Australians represent 4.6% of the Australian population does that mean all different ethnicities need representative bodies to advise governments.

I thought we are ALL Australians one country one people.

Came across this article this morning as well.

Its not, how can we make electricity cheaper, its how can we make a buck out of generating it.

So could Lithium..
There seems to be not much recycling of large used Lithium batteries going on, and no plan in hand for what to do with them once we have the electric cars commonplace. The batteries have a life span of perhaps 10 to 15 years - Lithium Phosphate batteries last longer than the others but expand when charged so a grid structure is required making them more expensive and perhaps unsuitable for vehicles.

Also, Lithium is dangerous if it is dumped as it is very soluble and easily leaches into the water supply. It has been used to treat Bipolar Disorder effectively since the late 1940s in Oz (the USA discovered it in the 1960s) but if levels in the water rise too high kidney and Thyroid gland damage is a high risk.

"What is a safe lithium level in blood?
A safe blood level of lithium is 0.6 and 1.2 milliequivalents per liter (mEq/L). Lithium toxicity can happen when this level reaches 1.5 mEq/L or higher. Severe lithium toxicity happens at a level of 2.0 mEq/L and above, which can be life-threatening in rare cases. Levels of 3.0 mEq/L and higher are considered a medical emergency."

These seems sensible and workable by Prof Langton and Prof Calma

https://voice.niaa.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-01/indigenous-voice-discussion-paper_1.pdf

AS I understand the existing aboriginal and torres strait islander advisory committee that currently exists in Canberra and is a consultative voice to parliament is basically to be enshrined in the constitution and their are options on how that group is determined (representatives from each sate and territory voted on by those that identify themselves as aboriginal or torres strait islander or direct appointment)

Happy to vote yes to either of them but prefer the advisory group (whatever it is called) of Aunties and Uncles is voted on by the brothers and sisters
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

She is a whirlwind but maybe not a very effective one ultimately.
Spews out a lot of hate and bile and gets mainly a free pass to do so.

She's always been fairly open about her hatred of, well, just about everything here. Doesn't try and hide it.

Couldn't even begin to imagine what sort of revolutionary utopia she has in mind.

Problem is all people are elected personally
The Constitution does not mention political parties (ie) you dont actually vote for a party (nor a PM)
