Maybe they'll bring out a teal clash guernsey?
Anything is better than the current situation.

White and black stripes

True, pays to make the $$$ the AFL will will go full BJ then. That's why Collingwood get to own the black and white.Spargo wrote:stan wrote:Why do Collingwood get such power, we bring in the $$$ so much more than you guys do. Bill should be missing our ass weekly.
You had Margetts for years, case closed.

Gotta find work man, gotta make a living.

obviously 100% no from Port, but if they did, would you make it the permanent jumper?
I think that’s a reasonable compromise. I suggested a few years ago, make just one of the white bars teal. Problem solved.
I actually think this is pretty good.

No idea if it would be acceptable by both Collingwood and Port though.
Booney wrote:So wear something you've never worn before to acknowledge your heritage? Great idea.
Booney wrote:Not sure how it negatively impacts upon Collingwood in any way.
On field? Not in any way.
Off field? I guess there is a chance a Collingwood supporter might search "Black and white guernsey" and end up on the Port Store site, find the guernsey, pick their size, add it to the cart, enter their email address, go to check out, enter credit card details and buy the guernsey then ignore the confirmation email from the Port Store. Or I guess they might go to the airport, fly to Adelaide, get an Uber to Alberton, go into the store, buy the guernsey, go back to the airport, fly back to Melbourne and go to a game wearing it. Egg on face or what!
tigerpie wrote:Everybody, including people who don't follow afl easily identify that the black and white vertical stripes represent ONE club.
The Collingwood Football Club.
The club is marketed internationally on the above.
Back in the sanfl days the Port Adelaide Football club fiercely protected its brand. Everybody knew who Port were.
There is absolutely no way you would've allowed anyone to come into the competition and wear black and white.
I personally have no idea why heritage round got canned, I loved it.
We are losing so much of the fabric of our game, some of it for the better, so I'd like to see clubs heritage celebrated every year.
MW wrote:The irony in all this is I feel you get more publicity for your club and more guernsey sales for the PBs having the yearly argument than if you were allowed to wear it.

Hey, Collingwood generate money that is distributed to the recipient clubs, why don't they make more money? Huh?!?!
If we could acknowledge our heritage we could help raise revenue.
Shut up! No!
