Bloody good effort by our boys this week

Fantastic effort by your lads today mate, could have easily have knocked us off at our home ground if not for a but of luck/umpiring.
We had top spot to play for.
West were very impressive today.

That ^ exactly describes West's game at Glenelg in round 9 this season. The Bloods are a far better team than their ladder position suggests.

Westies have been in most games and IIRC in front at half time in a majority of them only to fade out in the 2nd half.

Hopefully they can fix that fade out and become a better side in 2023
if we dont believe in tomorrow where do we go

West lost their 1st 6 games with an average losing margin of 45 points, they were averaging 34 I50's and conceding 58 I50's per game in the same period.

Since Round 6 and before their win against Port their biggest loss was 40 points, they have since had 2 wins and 2 close losses.

Since round 6 they have averaged 43 I50's and conceded 50 I50's on average and reduced ppg conceded from 100 (R1-6) to 82 R7 onwards.

Comp average i50's are 46, so they have closed the gaps significantly since the 1st 6 weeks.

But they still deserve to be bottom.

I think the key here is that the whole competition has become more even. Central and West have both shown greatly improved form in the second half of the season. Despite being soundly beaten by the Ravens, Central had 12 more I50's than the Ravens. In fact, in the last 7 matches, Central have only had less I50s than their opponents twice (against North and an 18 AFL-listed players Port side).
For the 9th placed Power Reserves, it all depends which players are available. When they have 18 AFL listed players (as they did against Central) they are very strong; when they have 10-14 (as they have had most games), they struggle.
