Postby Wedgie » Sun Aug 21, 2022 1:02 pm

3.15pm Sunday 28th August @ Adelaide Oval

Both sides coming off tight losses but Norwood were without Nik Rokahr.

Crows at home but how interested will they be coming off a Mad Monday?

What a shame I’ll be away next weekend but wouldn’t have attended regardless.
Luckily I’ll get to see us the following week and hopefully it’s playing for a spot in the GF

Norwood are 2-0 head to head this year, the first game Norwood looked gone but pinched it, the second Norwood led all day but it ended up close on the scoreboard. Of course, both these games were at Norwood. Crows will have a potent forward line and midfield, but will be vulnerable in defense. I wouldn't read anything in to either team's performance yesterday.

Norwood in a reasonably tight one by 13 points.
No Surrender!

Really feel for Norwood here, having to play a final at the opponents home ground.

They benefited from the reverse in 1973.

Legs are pretty much the Collingwood of the local comp this season .. Last 5 games were wins by 3, 12, 1 and 7 points, followed by a 1 point loss.

Think we'll struggle on the bigger ground against the Crows, would ideally have Rokahr, Panos and Nunn back, but haven't been able to fault our competitiveness, so here's hoping.

Drop this game and the spectre of consecutive straight sets exits looms large.

Where are the goals? When was the last time we kicked 10? A bit like last year it's looking like. Competitive but unable to kick a winning score.

My brain is etched with the trauma of my youth of Norwood looking like crap in April and May, but then slowly building to dominating finals series: 1978, 80, 84, 93, 99, 2010....

At the same time we take the inverse trajectory....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

We pumped them 2nd last round at the Bay by 12-13 goals then they go W,L,W,L in the finals to come 2nd (like 93 and 99 play a GF but in those years they went WWWL)
