Despite being born into a strong monarchist family who grew up in east London i miss the boat with the Royals.

I don't like reading that she has passed away but also don't get the emotional attachment to royals. I respect her dedication to her country but yeah for some reason this one doesn't hit me. Though i probably will remember what i was doing when i found out the same as when Princess Diana passed away.

The Queens death though has reminded me of my nan who absolutely loved her and would no doubt would be sitting in the clouds above having a gin or three for her today.

Triple M playing Queen songs all day.

In all honesty, does the Queens Birthday public holiday change name or date now?

I was brought up with a family that followed the monarch quite strongly, we went to see them when they visited and it was generally the norm.

I can't help but feel for how the Queen's world seemingly fell apart over time, with CamillaGate, the mistreatment of Princess Di then more recently Andrew and the Harry/Megan debacle.

The Queen made the world a better place and everyone loved her, she will be missed and I think the monarch will lose it's value with Charles in the throne.

Not a Royalist at all but even I feel sad about this.

In an ever changing world and family upheavals she was the one constant in my life. Never created any controversy.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II, I doff my hat to you.

Horrific but well done to those that stopped and probably saved 2 lives, they are heroes ;)

Not sure I’d be able to restrain myself from stabbing the absolute **** Of a human being in return if I saw that. Some people just don’t deserve kids, especially when so many people can’t have them and want nothing more than a family. Throw her in the slammer for the rest of her life, but even then that’s too easy on her…

Are you lot mental?

I'm no raving monarchist by any means - but i'd rather sit where we are now than end up like America.

I'd like us to become a Republic, but we'd need to be so sure of how we structure Head of State and Head of Government, I don't like the idea of them being one and the same.

Plus, with the instability around China and Russia I think staying close to the British military might be worth while.

I would vote against a Republic right now and if you'd told be 5 years ago I'd do that I'd have laughed at you.

You serious - everything queen gets replaced with King. eg QC becomes Kings Counsel, etc

Well not everything, Priscilla still remains queen of the desert

Does Bohemian Rhapsody now get announced as hit by King?

Is Juice Newton now playing with the King of Hearts?

Is the quaint little pub in North Adelaide now become the KIngs Head?

To be clear, becoming a republic - with the same system of government as we have now, only with an Australian non-hereditary head of state - would in no way entail us becoming even remotely like America.
