Does Bohemian Rhapsody now get announced as hit by King?

Is Juice Newton now playing with the King of Hearts?

Is the quaint little pub in North Adelaide now become the KIngs Head?

In all honesty, does the Queens Birthday public holiday change name or date now?

I was brought up with a family that followed the monarch quite strongly, we went to see them when they visited and it was generally the norm.

I can't help but feel for how the Queen's world seemingly fell apart over time, with CamillaGate, the mistreatment of Princess Di then more recently Edward and the Harry/Megan debacle.

The Queen made the world a better place and everyone loved her, she will be missed and I think the monarch will lose it's value with Charles in the throne.

As much as I was (and still am) pro a republic I couldn't vote for the model we were offered some years ago.
I'd love the see a system that could help keep out pollies honest - something like a president/ombudsman rather than a pet of the parties...

I hear this a lot from time to time but serious question, what would the benefit be?

The benefit would be that the head of state of Australia is an Australian. Also, the person would be selected on merit rather than inheriting the position from their parent.

No, because then we'd have 2 pubs called the Kings Head. ;)

It's already confusing enough with 2 Hiltons

Fair enough Whuffer.

It has surprised many younger people that, for example, Queensland reverts to Kingsland, Elizabeth becomes Charles etc and that all currency with the Queens head on it stops being legal tender after on year.

No need for medieval stuff, just watch The Royals, with Queen Liz Hurley waltzing around in her lingerie

I dip my lid to her, but find it hard to be sad for anyone making it to 96, a great innings that should be celebrated

I'm hearing this a lot today and don't get why it needs to be said.
It's like saying all lives matter, or not all men etc.
She was a massive public figure that will be mourned by more than just her immediate family and friends like you or I would be. Not unusual and will not be reduced because she is "no better than anyone else"

I guess it’s about putting things into perspective.
5 teenagers killed in a Ute crash saddens me more than the queen passing away.

I was rather hoping she'd make it to 100. I wanted to see if she'd get a telegram from herself.
