Received, IMO, sone bad advice when he should have come home earlier.

I doubt it will be a bidding war between Adelaide and Port.
The club tried everything thing they could including setting up a house for his brother to move to Melbourne and giving Aaron extended time home and leave for mental breaks. He has had a couple of chances to get home and the club were willing to let him go but he decided he wanted to stay and extended his contract

Agree with all that Jim, Essendon helped with everything they could.

Four years is a long time for someone of his ability and age IMO. Two years with performance triggers, back your own ability in, is more reasonable.

Four years for someone who will cost you a third rounder.

Rucci's weekly articles on Port's and Adelaide's reserves were proof positive. Be careful what you wish for was his go to phrase in every article bemoaning people who did not want Port or Adelaide to have their reserves sides in the SANFL.

I'm hoping we don't go the 'overs' route with Tanner Bruhn. Is he better than Jordan Clark? It would be insteresting to hear what went on there.

System is completely broken when a kid who has been at a club near the bottom of the ladder for 2 years can request a trade to the premiership favorites. Completely broken.

He should be able to "trade" his services, it's his job, I have no problems with that, but if his motivation is to go home then GWS should be able to deal with whoever offers them the best outcome. If it's Essendon, well mate you can stay or go to Essendon as they have put in the best offer.

100% this.

Far too much power has been put into the hands of the players.

So if Port finish neat the top next year (as they should) and JHF requests a trade to Port you'll have the same opinion?

Slightly different in a two town club.

I think Booney has a valid point - how many recruits have Richmond picked up over the past half dozen years as opposed to say Essendon?

There'll be a third "development club" soon (Tassie) that the Melbourne clubs can plunder after they've had their obligatory two years on the list after they got drafted.

This is all the AFLs making and just another sign of how the AFL is still just the VFL in another name..
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
