I dont think Glenelg wanted him, and when you get to Under 15's level, if you want to move to another SANFL club, the 2 clubs can do a deal by a trade of players or pay a transfer fee

Well done Glenelg =D>

Wrong, very wrong

Left our zone three months before the age cut off. We absolutely wanted him and there was much nashing of teeth when after playing in our development squads he moved and entered the then Sturt U/17 program in 2007.

All above board some so real dramas but some you win some you lose
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I must say, I am pretty impressed by Port Dist this year as a whole. In the years I played against them, they have been mid tier at best, and have hovered around the mid tier since in Div 1 (and that’s not a knock on the club, as it’s still impressive that they have been a pretty consistent Div 1 team for a lot of years).
This is the first time in since probably 2000 (so before I started playing) that they have been a genuine premiership threat in Div 1 (and this year the favourite).
Fair effort from the club to not only build this side, but also have their B’s and C’s around the mark too. Definitely something to be proud of.

30 years since their last D1/A1 flag, 15 since their last premiership (D2). Would be nice to their hard work pay off

Who will @Jimmy_041 go for this week? He's a member of both clubs  ;)

I think Port District would be the first to admit they have probably underachieved a bit in the last 5 to 6 years with the squad they've had. Definite issues in the ruck department but their overall squad plus decent depth down the grades meant it was surprising that they have been a 7 to 10 win team. The Gray boys have just topped off them off nicely this season and Cooper Gaffney is a star. I've really liked the way Sammy Gray has gone about things in our 2 games against them. No hint of arrogance or entitlement - just doing his best to get a win for his club each week.

Remember 2017 I showed up at Thebarton Oval fresh from seeing the Crows thump Geelong in a Preliminary Final and excited to see them in the GF the next weekend.

In hindsight I should have stopped footy for the year in the early hours of the 23rd of September

Should be close, hopefully Districts can get the job done. Not sure how much rain the Norwood area has got the last few days but it feels like we've had a bit on the peninsula so the ground could be like porridge come 2.30pm
