For us Legs fans still carrying the wounds of the 96' Prelim loss to Ports, some similar parallels from that game:

In 96' we'd kicked 3 on the bounce and one more almost certainly assures victory, but instead we shut up shop too early and the ball finds it's way into the hands of the last player you want kicking for goal against you at the death in Scotty Hodges. Nos with all due respect certainly not comparable to Hodges, but I'd think most clubs presently know he's the last person you want near goal with ball in hand when the game is in balance.

Still can't believe we got there, spewing Im at work, but up the Leggies!!

I cant watch this enough.... 8)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I was there in front of the Grog Squad
They were OK in stages but a bit disappointing as I was expecting a Barmy Army type afternoon
There was a good spirit on the hill - I didn't see any agro which was good

I did have one interaction
Norf lady in front had one of those red GOAL! signs and on the back it said "F*** off Norwood"
I went to get 2 beers and came back when it was pi$$ing down
She'd grabbed my umbrella for her daughter and her.
I said "bit rich to tell us to eff off and then pinch my brolly!"
She said "You're Mrs Jimmy's husband"
Wife of a well known Chic's pool man that looks after our pool

I thought we were gone after that free for the goal after the goal but they just ground the win out

NW Premierships I have seen
1975 v GL
1978 V ST
1982 V GL
1984 V PA
1997 V PA
2012 V WA
2013 V NA
2014 V PA
2022 V NA

The 2022 , in my opinion, was the least skilled team of those flag teams
However, in my opinion , they are the most courageous team of the lot.
They gave up leads in all 4 finals this year and prevailed 3 times.

One for the history buffs but this feels like the youngest and least experienced Premiership side we have had in that lot.
I wonder how average age and games played stacks up against the others mentioned

JIMbo
I would say without checking
1978 had a lot of players near retirement age and most likely the oldest line up
2022 would surely be the youngest

JK
Yes it is team that was prepared to get their hands dirty

Are we playing that game? Ok my turn!
South Adelaide premierships I’ve seen:

(Searches memory…)

Nope! Unless we can count the ones we dream about :D

But seriously congratulations to Norwood and all the Legs fans on here. That was a cracking grand final. Enjoy!!

The brickworks chimney has Norwood colours on display already. Are those amateurs going to cover it up for a proper unveiling?
