This saga is blowing up with Kennett/Rioli, and now reports of a senior player asking teammates if an indigenous players missus is a b***g.....

Great start to the season but this stuff needs ironing out immediately. Taking the gloss off a great start to Sam's coaching career.

Earlier this year the Hawthorn Football Club engaged external First Nations consultants to liaise with current and former First Nations players and staff to learn more about their experience at the club.

This important work has raised disturbing historical allegations that require further investigation. Upon learning of these allegations, the club immediately engaged AFL Integrity as is appropriate.

The club will continue to provide support to those who have participated in this process, and their wellbeing remains our priority.

While the process indicated the current environment at the club is culturally safe, it also recommended that some of the club’s current First Nations training and development programs should continue to be strengthened.

The club places the best interests and welfare of our players and staff as our number one priority.

Given the matters raised are confidential, the club will not provide any further comment at this time.

Timing is perfect for the AFL....get through to Friday and then the parade will take over the media and then game day and all that comes with that.

To get through the next couple of days is easy to get through with lines such as 'we take these allegations extremely seriously', 'they are significant allegations that we do not condone', ' we will be meeting with the investigators once the report is completed'

Just because North don't get the same treatment as the other vic clubs....but that's because even the AFL doesn't want you in Victoria.

Not sure we can throw any stones, best for Crows supporters to keep quiet IMO

Hardly.
Crows supporters don't need to remain quiet about this because of their own clubs issues in the past. If that were the case, no one can say anything
about anyone.

These allegations are as horrific as I've seen including Crows camp.

Agree to disagree

I’ve read Crows fans saying we are not as bad as Hawthorn, other clubs have done what we did.

It doesn’t matter if all 18 clubs have made mistakes, it is still not acceptable behavior.

We all need to be better.
