As you have selected the Premium Protection option, you have a Damage Recovery Fee of $385 plus tax, however this option does not cover any tyre or windscreen damage Therefore, you are liable for the cost of repairs. In accordance with the Terms and Conditions of your rental, you will be charged accordingly

Hire car insurance is the BIGGEST scam going around
There's probably a $2.5k or $5k excess unless you paid to bring it down
We've got an annual corporate travel policy that brings the excess down
Did you pay for it on your credit card? You may have insurance under that
As Booney said - ask them for the previous report
I'm not 100% sure but ask them if they are subject to AFCA https://www.afca.org.au/ That will scare the bejesus out of them if they are
You need to check and photograph every part of the car before leaving the premises
We have caught them many times scamming our clients

Said I returned it empty which was bullshit.
They charged me a full tank x $5 a litre.
Lucky I paid the petrol station by credit card and was able to send them the statement that proved I spent $100.
They even said, ‘how do we know it was for petrol or you didn’t put it in another car’.
I said coz I live in another State ya peanut!
Lucky they reimbursed me the $400.

Rule #3: When in doubt - start at Rule #1
The credit card suppliers are legally required to act on your behalf in a dispute
AMEX are very good at sticking up for you
They will freeze the payment until it is sorted and assist you in the dispute
It gives you a lot more muscle when they are involved
I've used it many times to fix a problem and been successful 100% of the time
Not just hire cars but anything you put on it
I even got my money back when an overseas hotel went broke.
Fortunately it was within the 90 days and I disputed it (after some good advice that I could)
I've heard Paypal do something similar but I refuse to be coerced into using it
Some OS hotels only let you pay via them but I just dig my heels in until they agree to accept AMEX

I can confirm that PayPal do do this. I had a present for my wife not turn up (she of course said that I didn't actually buy anything). I raised a dispute got all of my money back after they investigated the issue. I find it the safest way to pay across the internet with a safety net.

I bet you did the Dermie walk once you proved that you did buy her something with thought

Blew up like you wouldn't believe. X-rays and ultra sound showed no breaks but some bone bruising on the tibia. Had Thursday and Friday on the lounge icing and elevating, stiff* as all buggery and several shades of yellow/orange/purple/blue currently on display. F*cking sore.
