Good get.

Has talent but would want to have a better attitude than he did at Centrals and North Clare.

On the face of it it would seem to me yes.

Did we end up finding or deciding on an answer for this, regarding Broadies and White?

Assuming White didn’t obtain an indemnity order on costs (which given the nature of the matter would be amazing) this is something if I was Rostrevor and wanted to stay in D1 I’d be making loud noises about.

Was White not represented by a Rostrevor player, Nic Murphy?

Ooft 30% on a taxation going to take a lot of match fees to get back!

For those of us that are not legally minded, what's the summary?

My read was the courts have found that SAAFL have to pay one third of White's legal fees?
If so, guessing that his legal fees may have been say $15k, White's effectively in the hole for $10k, all to earn $400 for that match he got to play.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

In essence a taxed costs order means you get costs on the court scale as opposed to indemnity costs that are costs actually (and reasonably) incurred.

As a general rule of thumb a taxed costs order will be between 66% and 75% of costs actually incurred.

Given White was represented by (now) Kings Counsel, and the matter wasn’t certified for senior counsel he’d be out of pocket there.

I would suspect actual costs incurred would be between $20k and $30k indicating on a taxed 30% basis you might get $5k to $8k back from the other party (which is presumably insured).

Would suggest to me White would be $15k to $20k out of pocket at a guess

Refer to point 20. Was certified for Senior Counsel.

So is White paying it, or did Broadies stump it up? I would be surprised if White paid it himself.....

Trader, wasn’t about a match payment, it was about being able to qualify to play finals,
:shock:which he did and ended up playing in a premiership team.

Strange, to obtain standing to review the decision you need to plead an economic interest in the decision.

Was clearly about matchies.

Any event, if he’s shelled out $20k out of pocket to play in a flag good on him

Really interesting Div this one in 2023.

From my count i see 8 teams who have played Div 1.

The favorite for me is Golden grove who is one of the 2 teams who haven't. Josh Glenn is an incredible addition to an already undefeated Premiership team. I'm tipping a couple more recruits to come in and i'm sure a Kooka poster can correct me but only 2 from this years team not there next year.

Hearing talk of former Old Iggies coach, Damian Boots in talks to take over the coaching gig at ROCS. Boots is a Rossi old scholar and would be a great acquisition for the Rocs if they could land him.
