Steve Smith named vice captain, and people wonder why we are not the most credible side going around.

I would have Handscomb (I'm not a fan but he is making runs for fun atm) and Renshaw ahead of Harris.

I would have anyone whose surname isn't Marsh ahead of Harris.

Agreed but the selectors obviously love him and see as the replacement opener for now, I think Renshaw is a much better option and has become more versatile as he has opened and batted in the middle order in first class cricket.

No surprises there.

It would be bullshit if it was any other way.

We will score 500+ each first innings and inflate our ego's along with our averages, we will think that we're world beaters and then struggle off shore as we travel to India then England.

I think we will destroy the Windies by an innings each test. SA bowling Rabada, Nortje, Jansen, Ngidi is quality but I can't see them making many runs.

Trav is a very lucky man. Hopefully he scores big and take his chance. Does anyone know what Trav averages in county cricket in England. I know Renshaw has had a really good year over there so thought he would have been a chance to get in the side with an eye to the Ashes.

I guess it dismisses the myth the SA boys don't get treated fairly at the national selection table. ;)

He’ll make a big hundred against the Windies which will keep him in the team for another 12 months.

Yep..

I can't possibly see us winning the Ashes.

Warner, Head & Khawaja will bully the windies and then go on to average 20 against England over there.

Starc will skittle the windies and then average his career record in England of over 30 a wicket.

Average 27 in his 8 test innings over there. Not sure he would be a great selection for the Ashes.
