Thats awesome.

We have a new thoroughbred coming home tonight.......suited more to barrel racing which is what the misses is into. Keen to have a crack on him though and see what speed we can get him up to.

I've got no idea how people can ride horses, they scare the crap out of me. I think I'd prefer to attempt a backflip on a motorbike than gallop a horse.

The good people at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital in Kent Town...

Had to take one of our dogs there Sunday night as he was exhibiting signs of what looked like a stroke*.

after heaps of physical tests, an MRI and a Spinal Tap he has Meningoencephalitis which has produced leasions on his brain and affected his sight, ability to walk and well pretty much everything...

The have been able to start treatment with a heap of steroids, antibiotics and also a chemo infusion. He is able to see now and responds to his name.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care, compassion and dedication they have shown to both our dog and us as a family... we get text updates each morning and then at least 2 calls a day from the vet to keep us updated.

Oh I also rate Pet Insurance (at the moment)...

A weekend of doing absolutely f*ck all.

Got home Friday night, did absolutely nothing. Mrs Boon got me a mixed dozen from Shapeshifter, nailed half of them.

Saturday morning, bottled some beers then went home and drank a heap of them and did nothing.

Sunday, planted out some tomatoes, snow peas and capsicum, pulled up some weeds, drank more of the beers and did nothing.

Left the house twice in 2 days. Absolutely perfect.

Perfect weekend by the sounds of it.

I'm a 3rd of the way through Birthday season.

Every Saturday from October 1 through to December 10 I have something on, the only exception is this coming Saturday which will be spent sucking down pints and having a punt at the Ventnor Hotel in Port Vincent.

I actually hate going out on a Saturday night, I'm quite happy whacking some money in the account and watching some horses run around then troddling off to bed at a reasonable hour so I wake up fresh on Sunday morning.

Sometimes they feel like wasted weekends, sometimes they feel like it's just what you needed. It was just what I needed.
