At 31 he's not quite 'too old' to be overlooked but I'd like to think that the Australian selectors will look past Handscomb and look at someone younger as the next batsman inline to play test cricket.

Redbacks need 53 from 51.
Partnership of 90 from 101 between McSweeney and Lehmann.

Great run chase
When you are 1/0 against an attack of Siddle, Meredith, Ellis, Rogers you are up against it
Good effort by Travis Head for taking on that attack and scoring at almost a run a ball 27 [28]
That kept the chase at an acceptable run rate for Nathan McSweeney and Jake Lehmann to take us to an excellent chase and victory

Controversial finish in the NSW v Queensland match today as it was called a draw. Qld needed just 16 from 3 overs (initially 26 from 5 overs at the start of their second innings) to beat NSW outright but the umpires stopped and called off the match due to bad light.

Qld wouldn't of been happy, ridiculous that the umpires couldn't let them finish and win the match.

I don’t have an issue with it. If the rule is go off at a certain light measurement then go off no matter the situation of the game.

What is someone bowled a bouncer and the batsman was hit in the head? All hell would break loose.

WBBL
Bizzare match
BH V ST

Grace Harris , who will one day become a very good commentator played a bizzare innings
Scored 7 off 10 balls
This is a sequence of events
Down the pitch, missed stumping
Hits to long on dropped
Hits to long on dropped again
hat trick of missed chances !

Gets better
Grace out next ball
Reverse sweep that hits the keepers helmet and she is caught at point
It mite have been above the waist as well and a no ball but the dismissal stood [ watch the replay!!!!]
Geez sheez unlucky !

Game was stopped and BH win with the LUCKworth Lewis system
It rained for about 10 minutes, game could have been called off at any stage , but was stopped one or two balls after BH were I reckon ahead for the 1st time since the rain commenced

Started with a blaze of glory last year, but you can see now why WA got rid of him.

Last year went 118, 1, 79, 37, 68, 3, 4, 3, 31, 29, 25, 11, 15, 46 - last 13 scores nothing above 46.

Time to give Drew a go maybe?

Agreed Eags - that's why he was a fringe player in the first place at WA. Failure at 1st Class level there and is a failure here. Unfortunately the strategy for Tim Nielsen is to keep recruiting interstate hacks and completely disenfranchise any local who has some talent. As has been mentioned before, Drew will go elsewhere. If they want to be fair, Drew needs to be given as many innings as Carder.

Heater - good call. Travis Head should be at 3 as he's our best player but he's either too selfish or too gutless to play at 3. This is the problem at SACA - too gutless to make the hard calls and pick on an easy target instead - that's what bullies do. A long term culture of losing. Absolute crap culture. Let's hope Drew gets given as many opportunities as Carder has had.

Total agreement ..... what a selfish culture they have developed ... and not to be challenged by anyone. How Head as an alleged Australian player is not batting 3 is beyond me ... I will be surprised if we keep our talent .. the contracts that are handed out and not handed out are confusing ... we have some young players including Drew/Kelly/Johnson who are genuine talents and will surprised if these 3 in particular do not end up playing elsewhere .... Head only developed when he became part of the Australian team environment however his days are numbered .. I am amazed he can't workout his responsibility as a leader but more sadly it is the Australian selectors who will be watching this all play out with great curiosity!!

The culture of South Australian cricket .... Wow!

Glad to see Head won’t be at 3

The way his batted in the last couple of years….with 100 freedoms and shot making isn’t as suited to number 3. We need a number 3 who can bat to game situation

Handscombe with 95 again today in the shield

Hard to see the selectors not selecting him or Renshaw….they’ve been craving for someone to smash down the door
