southee wrote:South Adelaide are excited to welcome big body midfielder Ely Smith to Flinders University Stadium in 2023.

Taken at pick 21 of the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, Smith has spent the last four seasons with the Lions.

Averaging just over 21 disposals in 2022, Smith will provide the Panthers with additional strength around the contest.

Is it a case of Magain you've done it again, a short stint as a buyers agent on the GC or was the ink not dry?

"BRISBANE Lions AFL player Ely Smith has hung up his footy boots and moved into the property game as a rookie buyers agent.

Smith, 22, has joined Gold Coast-based buyers agency, Edwards & Mills, co-founded by former Carlton player, Jake Edwards, with his business partner, Kiana Mills.

The new career announcement comes just weeks after Smith was dropped by the Lions following a frustrating season plagued by injuries."

And rightly so! 22 is a good age to start.

Played 8 reserves games then missed the rest of the season through a hamstring injury.

Must have torn it right off.
