There have been some player departures and the Norwood Football Club bids farewell to players Jay Rantall, Henry Nelligan, Mac Bower, Matt Vardanega, Mitch Cotter, Tom Wagner and Jai Larkins following the end of the club’s 2022 season.

Wonder why Ethan Schwerdt was excluded from that list...was announced by us the same time as Jai.

I'm guessing because Ethan never played League for the Legs.

All of those mentioned in the Norwood release played at least 1 senior game for them.

Could well be the reason, true..was named as emergency more times than some of those played though. Deserved a mention IMHO.

Had the same thought myself.
Of those named so far, I am thinking Chisholm, Liddy and McGrath will start. Along with a yet TBA ruck, that makes a whole new setup at opening bounce. Better still it releases Billy Mc to a forward role and Pres and Fish to fill any of a number of roles they are capable of.
Jezz McLennan is a cert. Then add Barreau, Nietschke and B Launer and you have at least 8 INS from how we finished last season.

Reckon the other Albury lad might be an interesting one and Larkins is rated by our coaching group.

The upside is how young all the recruits are. Although I only see us as challenging for or just making the 5 next year, keep the side together and we have the the nucleus of a great side for a long time. The majority of the squad has played state junior football, three or four in a leadership role.
Cheers

Did you mean Fletcher Carroll from Albury should start.
Happy we are recruiting, definitely better than previous years.
My concerns are who are the A graders to add to our small list of current A grade players.
We also need some key position players.

Reports on Lonergan he’s on holidays in the UK and keen as mustard to be at the Eagles next year
Also from another source eagles have had players from interstate at oval ave in the last few weeks

Lonergan is at the Eagles. Also doing some coaching with the SA inclusive side at the national carnival.

He chose the southern beaches & McLaren Vale over the northern suburbs.

He like most recruits check this website first and foremost when making up their mind. All that negative talk takes it's toll. He is a Murray River boy and no club is closer than Centrals.

He chose the football club that is best placed to help achieve both his football and personal goals. Insert winking smiley face thingy.

Could still go in the AFL draft.

Gold Coast perhaps.

Another good pick-up, just turned 20; former Academy team-mate of Bailey Reeves, should work well together.

Reeves finished the season in the Reserves, so if he is staying in 2023, Dogs fans would be hoping they won't be playing twos footy together.

With all these signings, there's bound to be a few "fringeys" asked to move on.
