anyone know what happened at Salisbury oval. I see play commenced after an issue with the ground, however play discontinued soon after the 1st innings score was passed. With no further rain I assume the ground was considered safe to play.

huge dollars spent and in the most important season for many years and clubs pull the pin early with plenty time left in the game.

surely time playing with the recruits for some of the younger players would be invaluable regardless of the game situation.

I guess no amount of money and recruits can buy culture.

I heard that play didn't start until around 3pm and only 5 overs were played. I am led to believe the pitch was fine but there were some wet patches on the square. Apparently ND had no interest in putting any work in to the get the area playable so Sturt made them wait around until play got started. ND only needed a couple of quick wickets and they would have been right into the lower order/tail. I heard it was the Sturt people who put some work in on the square as ND were just sitting around with Cosi and their captain continually lobbying the umps to call it off. Obviously Sturt were keen to get the 20 points given all the games at Park 25 and elsewhere got away, which they are absolutely entitled to do. They peeled off the remaining 28 in 5 overs without losing any wickets and then play stopped. Probably walked off given no time for a further result and Sturt's NRR is pretty good with only losing 4 wickets and going at over 4 runs per over?
Yes - a lot of money spent to be bowled out for 135!!

Maybe Aary Gablett can tell us how it unfolded? Think his son played for Northerns on the day in the 1st Grade.

Have seen Cosi over many years try and bluff the umpires and try and get his own way. Been embarrassing the way he has carried on. Don’t know why he is getting involved this time, you are no longer the coach or captain, so keep the **** out of it

don't underestimate how hard it is to get a hose out that far........

surely, surely there is somebody at that club with a brain that would see the benefits of playing some cricket after a result is achieved given it is a team full of recruits? No one?

spending huge dollars, pissing off locals, no volunteers and the players are eating chips and watching races

I get that sturt would want to get out of there asap

I also get that Cosgrove would not want to play on however it is no longer about him, it is about the future - which looks ordinary - at least prospect have a plan.

Seems a bit harsh on ND. They were one of the few clubs that got a pitch up at their home ground the first week. Prospect might have a plan, but at least ND don't finish bottom every year.

Prospect also don't have a massive country region they can draw talent from. They're also in the middle of a heap of competing clubs. With the resources at ND fingertips, they should be flying. But they aren't............... Why??

Doesn't appear to be many games from day 2 listed in that search list.

Oh well. No harm. Just curious as to what happened with them

Northerns comfortably defend their 224 bowling out East Torrens for 157.

Tea Tree Gully hold on to a well fought out draw for the second match in a row, 8 for 271 chasing Adelaide’s 398.

Glenelg 8 for 221 get over the line in a close one against Uni 220.

A batathon at Port, Woodville declare a mammoth 7 for 446 overnight and Port get the draw batting out the day to be 5 for 369.

Prospect get the win after making 6 for 318 declared, bowling Southerns out for 227.

Kensington scrape to 203 after a top order collapse and as good sides do, bowled out Sturt for 192 to get a win on the board and make Eagles2014 eat his own words and remind him we haven’t even hit summer yet!

Glenelg 40
West Torrens 30
Port Adelaide 25
Sturt 20

Southerns 20
Kensington 20
Northerns 20
Prospect 20

Tea Tree Gully 10
University 5
Adelaide 5
Woodville 5
East Torrens 0

Eagles look good again. Bays the real deal.

Gullies' batting is elite but does their bowling run deep enough Winter aside?

Kensington's batting has gone off the boil. Ended last season poorly and have started 22-23 in the same fashion. Is Opie playing?

Uni have lost a few players.

Sturt's batting looks strong but they'd want Corey Kelly to have a big season and remain fully fit.

Port look to have recruited very well.

Woodville's batting very strong. Does McInerney stay the whole year?

Jets look stronger than last year

Not sure where to rank East Torrens?

Recruits and imports playing a more significant role across the competition than previously by the looks.

Lace & Orr about to come into that East Torrens side. Gives them a serious batting order.

Another big day out for the Eagles. 5/390 odd declared, Drew 140+, Mousley 90 odd, Kelvin 78, Capel and Dick around 30, only Harry missed out. Uni were 1 down for not much.
