I'm not sure how we can really say any of that just yet.

I like how aggressive we have been but the fact of the matter is there is no way on this planet to know how many of these blokes will make it at league level, not one of them has had more than a season of consistent SANFL league football.

The confidence i have and probably the only confidence we can have is Mark Ross and Edwards proven track record.

I think we will enter the 2023 season one of the greatest unknown teams to play league football.......impossible to get a read on where we sit. It's bloody exciting though.

Best case for me is we go 50/50 with the quality of the recruits. That means we still about 7 are good SANFL footballers and that should get us coming into finals contention. We would also have a very bright future ahead.

Worst case is their body of work previously is what they are, only a couple are league quality, we start 0-3 and then what for Thommo.

Non- Negiotable- we have to win more games than last year, at least that will be improvement and with a young squad some potential ahead of them.

The Central District Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of key position player, Will Splann.

Will 19, is a 195cm versatile key position who can play forward or back, who spent the 2022 season playing for North Hobart in the Tasmania State League and Tasmania Devils in the NAB League. Across both competitions Will played 19 games kicking a total of 44 goals.

When playing forward, Splann is clever inside 50, can find space to lead into, and clunk marks with his clean hands and is a reliable set shot.

We are excited to watch Will continue to hone in on his craft and show supporters what he is capable of.

Splann is the one I’m backing in to have the biggest influence followed by Liddy.

A great addition. Will has already been compared to Jack Riewoldt by no lesser a judge than Kevin Sheehan. Has alternated between defence and attack so could possibly be used as cover if we lose Rhett in the draft.

Surely he can’t be as bad as Marsh.

I think McCormack is a better ruckman than he is a forward tbh.

But with a few more options this year I’m sure Thommo can find the correct combo.

Billy was very good against most opposition rucks but was found out against the genuine big units. If Pickering can pitch hit in these games (North and south last season), then Billy will take care of the rest.

Yeh, jonno... sad but true. Such a great lad but....

I know we're talking to a big AFL player who was recently cut, we tried to secure him last season.

I have doubts over both.
The second is more likely to end up in WA due to family ties.

The first one mentioned, who has fielded several enquiries from afl clubs ahead of the draft has centrals and glenelg as his back up options.
So.... do your own research, ask your own Club.
But you might find that your Club also would rather you not disclose names until deals are done....
