Run a ball from here gets them to 270 which will give the Aussies a good chase

We just gotta hope Smith & Labia don’t bat too long, at least Smith has the ability to get his strike rate back to 100 if he scores big, Labia is an 80 type operator at best.

2/200, Warner out out for 86 from 84.
Great stuff by both openers, Head justifying his selection.
Need 88 from 129.

Why wouldn't England open with Buttler and Hayles? It's just like a T20 but longer, it's the same fundamentals, especially considering Phil Salt takes an opening role.

Hales isn't in this England squad and Buttler has never opened in ODI's, batted as high as 4, obviously he prefers playing in the middle order and so does the team/coaching staff.
Also, Hales hasn't played ODI cricket since March 2019, it's been well documented the England management and in particular Eoin Morgan didn't want him involved in the England White Ball teams because of his off field indiscretions.

Hales only came back into their T20 team for the WC because of the injury to Bairstow.

Head is averaging 63.16 in ODI's this year with two fifties and a hundred in four innings as an opener so he's going ok.

Warner's 86 from 84 last night was his highest ODI score against England since Jan 2015 when he made 127 at the SCG and he's had 15 innings against England between those scores.
