Why would they bat Carey above Marsh or Stoinis?

I was talking about this with my cricket mates on Saturday, we think the idea is Carey is a better player of spin compared to those two who are quite weak against spin and much prefer pace on so Carey bats in the middle when spinners are most likely to bowl saving Stoinis and Marsh who are Australia's power hitters for the end of the innings.
