So far Seale and Roach have bowled well. They have clear plans in place and it's good to see. I like the look of Joseph, jus to see a giant West Indian bowler coming bounding in is a great site to see.
He was kissed by rose with that dismissal, should've been one bounce and over the cover boundary

Khawaja out for 65, good delivery from Mayers who had found a bit of (reverse?) swing and it's moving a fair bit for him.

You can see how unpopular the Aussie team is just by looking at the traffic on this thread.

Less than a dozen posts, most of them negative, we get more traffic on a Redbacks match and this is meant to be the first day of summer, getting the parents to sign an early finish at school form so we can run home and watch the first ball.

Fantastic effort by the Aussies on day 1 of the first Australia v WI test match,
to lose an early wicket and then to go on and make nearly 300 for the loss of 2 wickets is an excellent effort!
11,000 people in attendance on a Wednesday against a minnow of test cricket is brilliant!
Hopefully we'll go on & make 500 plus.
What a day to be A PROUD AUSTRALIAN!

Yep it's mostly middle aged blokes having a whinge about how they don't like the team or how the cricket isn't the same as it was and was better 'back in their day'.

Seems people can't just enjoy it for what it is or if you don't like it don't watch it.

That seems to be whats happening judging by the crowds to recent Australia games in all formats as well as the dwindling big bash crowds.

That is me, I guess I was spoilt with the characters of the game in the 80's and 90's and then the genuine good blokes like Gilly, Symonds, Dizzy and Haydos. Chuck in the gritty hard nosed skippers like Border, Waugh, Ponting and Clarke who make it pretty clear that I grew up at a fortunate time for Australian Cricket.

I loved these guys, I loved Australian Cricket, it was exciting to watch, I was proud to be an Aussie. I just can't seem to have the same excitement or vigour to watch the current team, of course I want them to win, I want Head and Carey to succeed but I tend to just check the score on my phone every now and then, I used to be a massive Smith fan a while back too, I don't have the same respect since he became Marnussed.

So in a nutshell, I don't really watch it.

Do people on here see Smith in the same bracket as Ponting, Tendulkar and Lara?
Stats wise he certainly is but I rate the other 3 much higher.
