Booney wrote:The Leon Macdonald – Andrew Gluyas stable was on Monday hit with a $9,000 fine at the conclusion of an inquiry into a swab irregularity returned by Pimm’s Party.
Now retired mare Pimm’s Party returned a positive swab after her win at Morphettville on July 30.
“It is a most bizarre situation, with the presence of nicotine in her system,” said Macdonald,
“Ultimately Andrew and I are guilty of presenting her at the races not drug free, but how she has tested positive to nicotine is an absolute mystery.”
Pimm’s Party has been disqualified from the event and placings were amended accordingly with the Jim Smith-trained May Be Fate now awarded the race.
Meanwhile, stable star Dalasan is heading for the paddock after his ninth placing in last Saturday’s Kennedy Champions Mile behind Alligator Blood at Flemington.
“He probably didn’t run that badly in his 3 Melbourne Group 1 runs this campaign,” said Macdonald.
“I think he was only beaten a tick over 5 lengths on the weekend in what was a very strong race.
"Four weeks between runs might not have helped him either as he did seem to feel the pinch a bit late.
"We had been toying with the idea of a Perth campaign with him but in the end we have decided the paddock is the right option.
"He will return for one last preparation in early 2023 and then fingers crossed we can find him a nice home to stand at stud.”
The six-year-old son of Dalakhani is a winner of 8 of his 39 starts with earnings in excess of $3.5 million.
A recent retiree from the Macdonald – Gluyas stable was talented sprinter Tequila Time.
An outstanding two year old winning four of his seven juvenile starts, Tequila Time would go on to win 9 races and over $500,000 in his racetrack career.
“The horse did a great job for the stable and his connections but he was getting very hard to place as he was getting older," he said.
"He also bled after winning at Murray Bridge four starts ago back in January and we ultimately wanted to look after him.
"His breeder Ralph Satchell has take him back home to his Willow Grove Stud property where he will be well kept for the rest of his days.”

Splish Splash
Trialled well but is $2.45.
It's a $55k race so we're hoping in a 5 horse race we will get the chocolates.
Edit... 4 horse race with a scratching.
