With Starc and Green out of the SCG test:

Hazelwood for Starc

Does Nesser come in for Green or do they go with Aaron Hardie?

This is where the likes of Warner, Head and Carey are so valuable with their strike rate, it’s more imbedded into the South Aussies as they have to score quick at shield level to avoid being left stranded all the time.

Here we are one session deep in the 3rd day and we have a 300 run lead when the Proteas haven’t scored more than 200 since before mal retired. We can be 420 up with 7 sessions to bowl them out

Yep they're in a very, very strong position, lead of 326 and the SA bowlers doing the hard yards!
Current partnership of 70 from 23 overs, it's been pretty easy going even with Green having a broken finger.
Your point yesterday about Elgar's field settings is showing again, giving Green easy singles down to a deep mid on off Maharaj and getting off strike when he doesn't even look like going over the top and maybe he can't anyway because of his finger?

Carey will go big after he gets the ton, we have enough runs already and conditions are diminishing.

Nothing to lose

Starc should take one on the helmet then Hazelwood could replace him as a concussion sub.

Do they still have a “12th man”? Or is that a thing of the past?

Yeah absolutely so Australia need as many as possible having three fully fit frontline bowlers although there was footage this morning of Starc attempting to bowl and warming up in the news so he might be good to go?

Maharaj approaching 150 runs for the series without a wicket, lucky he’s had a solid series with the bat with 20 runs @ 6.7.

He will be lucky to get over 130km, I reckon he’ll have one spelling in him, depends on how strong the painkillers are, he looked very uncomfortable bowling at 3qtr pace
