I’ve always admired South Africa, they’ve always played like us.

I loved watching how tough Graeme Smith was as a captain, been privileged to watch arguably the best all-rounder the game will see in Kallis, AB de Villiers was a freak and then there’s Dale Steyn.

Loved their fight back in the day with Cronje, Kirsten, McMillan, Gibbs and Jonty. I’ve lost the zest for them gradually over the past decade but I just can’t hate a national cricket team, I enjoy watching any of them come over here and I prefer it when they challenge us.

Could make a fool of me but i think Bavuma could be the tough wicket.

Loves a fight, loves to bat time and lots of balls, shows a fair bit of ticker usually.

Disagree
I hope AU thrashes SA , and well done AU winning this series 3-0 ...
We have not beaten them for a long time in Test series in OZ
Take advantage whilst AU is a superior team

I hope we win, I just want to see a battle. Two tests and we’ll see 6.5 days worth.

They have no batsmen, a straight ball spinner and Ngidi just runs in and bowls, we’ve had two pretty rank sides tour this summer, I hope we understand that with the upcoming tours and don’t get a false sense of security.

All the talk of slow over rates....
Well here's a sh!t rule that should be changed.

The Aussies sneak in an extra over just before lunch, whit Pistol taking Starc's cap at 11:59:55.
That over takes 6 minutes to bowl, with several field changes.
Lunch was scheduled for 12 til 12:40.
However as they didn;t get off until 12:06, the resumption of play is held back until 12:46.

What a joke.
Get them going at 12:40 on time.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Heres a thought, instead of giving them the benefit in slow over rates, the extra half hour should more than cover that, lets penalise both teams for slow over rates. Its just as much the batters fault as it is the fielding team. Hefty fines for both will see them get through the overs.
oh and if its good enough for the umpires to carry some water in country cricket on hot days its good enough for our national team!
oh and gloves can only be changed at drinks breaks, thats 40mins on hot days, 60 mins on others, there is not a set in the world that doesnt last that long. Even Mals green spiked gloves would survive an hour at the crease

Sitting home with a guts full of COVID watching the cricket.
Missus has it too and can't believe I can sit here and watch cricket all day.
I'm enjoying watching Bavuma battle this out. Can bat.
Can't figure why you have a number 3 with such a poor average. Less than 20.

Bavuma played well for 65, average way to get out and throw his wicket away.

Interesting point made by the commentators.

Is there more of a talent mismatch in world sport than when a world class fast bowls to a genuine number 11.

At least when the number 1 tennis player plays number 200 in a grand slam the number 200 has a fair idea what he's doing.

Plenty of professional baseball pitchers are very ordinary indeed at batting.

Thats probably the other closest, albeit in baseball pitching 'at the batter' isn't really a thing (when pitching to a pitcher) compared to how regularly the pacemen bounce the tail.
