Prediction
Lightning Lance Morris
Probably 6-7th fast bowler in line to play for Australia at this stage
IF Injury free I predict he will play for Australia - but might have to wait until sum of the the current bowlers retire

India v Australia Test Series
Australia has 1 world class spinner, India has a production line.
They will beat Australia in the next test series- if they provide spinning decks
Steven Smith the only batsman capable of scoring 100 +runs in an innings on a spinning deck.

Team to improve………Pakistan in test cricket

India to knock us off in clean sweep, usual suspect to fail over there. Khawaja most runs, Lyon most wickets.

England to win Ashes 2-1 in absolute classic series, one washed out test and one high score draw. Warner and Khawaja to retire from test cricket at series end. Played together as juniors and retire together. This will be where Hunt gets his chance.

Agree with Whufc about Hunt, Hunt (25) and Renshaw (26) to replace Warner and Khawaja as openers is my prediction.

I was listening to the India on 99.94 podcast today, their topic was looking back at the series against Bangladesh and then looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

While both hosts agreed India will beat Australia they weren't confident due to India's top order not being in the best of form throughout 2022 (Sharma, Rahul, Gill, Pujara, Kohli), they didn't play heap of test matches but they are low on runs. Mind you I think there's a fair bit of gaslighting that goes on on that podcast and both hosts always look to downplay the Indians even after recently knocking off Bangladesh 2-0. I think all those players will be looking to fill their boots against Australia.

It's Ashwin, Axar and possibly Jadeja and Kuldeep that will be the main problem for Australia though, I feel Ashwin will get the Aussie left handers out for fun and Axar will do the same with the Aussie right handers.

I'd love nothing more than Australia knocking off those Coats on their own turf but I just can't see it happening. Going to be a fascinating series nonetheless.

One small prediction I would like to make is who the next Australian Team song leader will be as my wife was asking me during the Melbourne test match if Australia had a team song. I bored her telling her about Under the Southern Cross and that Nathan Lyon is the song leader. It lead me to thinking about who would be the next song leader would be and my prediction is Travis Head. Nathan Lyon presented his test cap where he made a great little speech about Head and was also playing for SA when Head made his debut so it would be fitting if Head took the mantle.

Meredith was the next best thing 2 years ago, he’ll never play red ball cricket for Australia IMO and there would be 10 quicks ahead of him for white ball cricket (not that it seems to matter nowadays).

He needs to reproduce something or add to his arsenal to get to international level again, leaked runs profusely in his last attempt
