So possibly a dumb question as I don’t pay much attention but why aren’t our test blokes playing tonight?

Given other test players played last night you’d think they’d play?

Obviously still having a rest post the test series, their first game for the Strikers is on Saturday against the Heat. I think Travis Head and his fiancée and their daughter have only just back to Adelaide, I saw on his Instagram they were still in Sydney on Tuesday.

I'm guessing Kelly would make way for Head and I bet they play Nielsen as a batsman (top scoring tonight is justification to keep him in the team) with Carey coming in to keep and someone else will be dropped.

I'd drop Gibson before Kelly

In Head Out Gibson
In Carey Out Lynn

Nielsen survives on the basis of there being noone else Hunt (not a t20 player) Weatherald (Injured, awful form)

Short
Head
Carey
Hose
Kelly
Nielsen

CdG to replace Nielsen when fit

Would be nice to sign a replacement player if possible for one of Lynn/CdG/Khan
Dave Warner will be missed!

I support CA’s stance.. it’s 2023 not 1823 - women and girls deserve equal opportunity and should be allowed to participate in sport if they choose.

I agree but it’s a tough one.
Do you think the Taliban care the games have been cancelled?
It’s not the Afghan administrators fault here.

A generation of South African cricketers could not play international cricket from 1970 to 1992 so this latest scenario with Afghanistan is nothing new. Only the Taliban can get the cricket situation changed.

I heard there was an opportunity to sign NZ T20 keeper/batsman Tim Siefert. Gun player who has played IPL. Guess who didn't follow it up so as to protect their son!!

It's not politics. It's standing up for basic human rights.. and yes, sport is the best vehicle for driving that.

Absolutely they do, but the Taliban will not give a shit about this decision (they probably enjoy it) and the Afghanistan cricket team have been active supporters of womens rights in their country so I'm not sure who CA are punishing here?

CA have a history of cancelling games against the minnows (Banga's, Ireland) - no surprise this will conveniently give the players a rest in a busy schedule.

So would that make it 3 games this season that they have lost to the bottom side?

Gee, that Spencer Johnson bowls alright. Is he related to Mitch? Queensland have a habit of producing fast left arm quicks. If only we had an up and comer like that in SA we could slot straight into the Shield team.
