Made 19 and 6 opening the batting in both innings (SW bowled out for 27 in the second innings.....could it be clubs lowest ever score??)

Bowled 8 overs in the innings 0/23 so bowled well enough but they used 8 bowlers in the innings out of the 34 overs.

Is he carrying an injury....or what was going on there. Was just really weird to read on a Sunday morning.

Huh.....tore it and then decided to have a gentle bowl in the b grade or tore it whilst bowling in the b grade.

Stop talking in riddles.

Club has played a bloke under A.Smith, bowled Right arm and Mamkad a player at the start of the year, play them again later in the year ‘same’ player now 6 inches shorter and bowls left arm.

Anyone come across this previously, what is the Associations stance on this?

Probably happens more often than we know. Happened a couple times in Churches when we had a couple of new multicultural sides come in. We started looking at photos for players on registration and MyCricket used to allow this.

Unless you can prove it, not much can happen.. but if it's proven true, then PDCA have traditionally come down very hard on club and player.

Switch on mate, you asked why he was playing B grade - you got your answer - now you're confused? :D

Honestly, if Davies name showed up in any grade except A grade, I'd just shrug my shoulders and tell myself must be a pretty good reason why - he's the most passionate person I think I've ever met about playing A grade cricket and Grade 1 cricket. The other part is, he's been an incredible asset to Westies for a long time - even if he decided he was sick of watching Trav McIntyre drop bombs for fun and went to the low grades, reckon that's alright with me.

For the record, he did his knee a few weeks back - played B grade on last game, and obviously bowled but who knows what he bowled or how much energy was put in.

What about his height?

I think it's subject to violation when ********* looks like winning the batting trophy.

Wasn’t questioning his motives….was just a shock when looking at the scores around the state whilst having breakfast Sunday morning. The bloke would be a genuine pdca hall of famer.

Especially shocked when I read he opened and bowled 8 overs…..didn’t appear he was injured.

His knee was rooted, maybe he just took it easy and hit the spot, he'd be just as dangerous a few yards slower anyway, he makes the batters play at almost every ball at reasonable pace.

Absolutely his jet no matter what pace he bowls......his control and ability to hit the seem is what makes him the gun he is at div 1 level.

BTW should PDCA have a hall of fame for blokes like Davies, J.Carmen, and others going back further like C.Rundle, M.Elliott and 500 pdca gamer N.Lock.

Big round of matches in Grade 2 coming up.

1v2 - Enfield travelling to Parafield Gardens. PG are flying, and on their home deck will be ultra confident. Winner here you'd think finishes top. Loser in danger of slipping down to an away SF.

3v4 - ATCO v Eyre. Royals have dropped a fraction after dropping a game to North Pines last week, whilst ATCO enjoyed the return to 2 day cricket with a comprehensive win over Enfield. ATCO finish the season with Salisbury West, would be hopeful of max points and an assault on the minor premiership. Eyre Royals lose this, you'd have to say they're guaranteed to finish 4th.

5v6 - North Pines v Salisbury West. The Pines are back off the back of a Sharkey masterclass, whereas Davies couldn't inspire Westies as they succumbed to their heaviest defeat of the season. Counts for little except pride, but the winner here could avoid the wooden spoon.

Grade 1
Craigmore 107 vs Dublin 9/183
Virginia 94 vs Salisbury West 1/64
Eastern Park 51 vs Angle Vale 6/410

No real surprises at all. Angle Vale could bat on a little longer before chasing the outright and effectively bat Craigmore out of a finals position. Salisbury West will lock up top spot barring some horrendous collapse and Virginia will drop to 4th heading into the final round.

Grade 2
Eyre Royals 196 vs ATCO
Parafield Gardens 149 vs Enfield 2/58
North Pines 132 vs Salisbury West 9/83

Competition at the top is tighter than a nuns proverbial. Royals with a more that decent score on ATCO's ground could hold the pole position in that match, Enfield had a good day against Parafield and are well positioned at the moment.

Parafield and ATCO finish next week with the bottom two sides, you'd expect wins (and probably outrights), so even if they drop matches this Saturday they could very well find themselves top 2 after the minor round.

Ladder is so tough - if Enfield win this week, if they lose to Eyre next week (and PG and ATCO win outright) they could still finish 4th.

ATCO average 264 in two day matches @ Dauntsey Oval this year, 273 in two day matches overall.

North Pines are a strange one, even in their poorer performances they manage to bowl the opposition out cheap enough, they have a real crack at it.
