Flaggy - Par

Off the tee was fairly solid. but around the greens just didnt have any feel at all.....
a few changes on the course. the 16th is now a par 3 100m
and the 17th they now use the womens tee block. not 100% sure what is happening back at the tee block

Ended up with -2 felt like it was so much worse than that

Off to Royal Echunga tomorrow. its generally an enjoyable walk up there

Echunga on a beautiful Sunday morning.

The golf was certainly interesting...
The course is in good nick for the most part.
The back 9 they have irrigation issues that they are rectifying.
The greens on the front 9 we found to be very quick.
They were a fraction slower in parts on the back 9.

Overall 90 - 45 on both 9s for 31pts.

Been too long since I'd been up there

Been meaning to have a hit up there before winter, its no good once the rains come.

Played back 9 at the Vines on Friday night and hit my best off the stick score there, 41 and 21 pts. Only hit one GIR but scrambled well when just off the greens to get up and down a few times.

Anyone played at Clare recently? Heard they are having trouble with their greens - heading up over Easter

Went to Clare for the weekend last week. Some of the greens look terrible but they played ok. Look like some disease. Apparently they haven't had a greens keeper for a number of months.

Actually the 10th was terrible, a couple of sizeable holes on the green

Got a golf/boys weekend coming up towards the end of April. Better dust off the clubs and get a few hits in over the next 8 weeks in preparation.

played 9 holes on monday after work. mainly used the one length gap wedge and surprisingly it worked a treat from around 65m - 110m, plenty of air and stopped on a dime.... which is highly unusual for me  it better behave on the weekend

haha I play a yellow ball also, thankfully it stopped right next to the 150m sign so I knew exactly where it was.

One extra thing, had the best bounce off a tree of my life last night, hit a good drive on the 9th, was about 165m out and hit a 5 iron which I pulled way left, a good 30m left of the green heading towards the 13th tee, I was filthy with the poor shot, lost sight of it and went to put my club in the bag - only to see out of the corner of my eye the ball lob on the green 15ft from the hole, green in reg!

woke up this morning from the noise of steady rain falling.
check the radar and doesnt look too bad, but looked like the rain may stick around for half the round.... which it didnt, just muggy...
go and find some wet weather pants and a jacket that is too small.
jacket comes off after a couple of holes and the pants came off after the 11th.
but the front 9 was just horrid.
a few balls in the trees, but who can be bothered spending 3 mins looking for rubbish
The highlights were few and far between.
hybrid seemed to behave itself quite well.
the addition of the one length GW is a masterstroke  atleast for today anyway...

12 points on the front 9...
the last 7 holes netted 16points...... after the pants came off...

back out there this morning at Flaggy.

started on the 10th to avoid the visitors playing in a group of 5
front 9 was really solid. fair few 1 putts   from reasonable distances....
I wasnt keeping track of scores, but knew i was going well.
then on the 1st put the drive into the trees protecting the houses but scrambled away with a par. almost got a birdie with the GW just off the green rattling the stick. the GW from off the green was just beautiful today.
scratching around for a few points here and there.
7th - ball catches the top of the dam. no need for a provisional..
8th - greenside bunker in 3. bunker shot catches the lip and drops back in.... pick up and move on
9th - creamed a 7i into the demolition area of the club house.... managed to scoop it out so i can lose it next week

12 points on the back 9 after 23 on the front

1st practice in a very long time.

Hit about 20 balls with a 3 quarter swing to warm up.

Then moved to full swing. Threw the back out on about the 4th one.

Pushed on worked my way through the bag. By about 60 balls I was stuffed. Still had 30 to go!!

Put 15 in the bottom of the bag for next week. Adjourned to the chipping/putting green. About 45 minutes there, and I’m done.

4 beers deep now, and I feel like there’s a knife between my shoulder blades.

**** I hate golf!

Best weekend of golf i've had in ages.......

Saturday (One of major trophies) Stabelford event, I won the day.
72 off the bat for 40 points.
Played off 5, Ironically didn't actually do anything great but, i just didn't do anything bad at all. the 5 holes i get a shot on i parred 3 of them and had my only 2 bogey's on the other 2 which still gave me 2 points.

Sunday- Round 4 of pennants and Won 4 and 2
We had Playford at Playford, interesting course in well, hmm interesting condition.
I won 4 and 2, I was dormy (4 up with 4 to play) he birdied the par 3 15th to bring it back to 3 up with 3 to play, i then birdies the long Par 4 16th to win 4 and 2.

Golf is great again, until next weekend lol :D
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........
