Warner being out of this series injured is the worse scenario here.
If he stayed and failed again they could have dropped him for good but now I think they’ll let him rest/heel and they’ll pick him for the ashes.

Who do we have to replace him though? That is my concern

Hazelwood as well, this is worse than the Jolly Jesters Circus

Is Hazelwood still injured or just coming home as he knows he won’t be playing anyway

Injured with his achilles, now they are also reporting Agar and Renshaw might be heading home WTF is going on over there
Bancroft heading over[/quote]When is Bancroft heading over? Because he is currently paying in WA's Shield match against Tasmania.

Given he's currently the leader run scorer the the Sheffield Shield this summer (missed out today due to a ripper catch from Tim Paine) he is probably in line for an Australian recall once Warner then maybe Khawaja retire, perhaps he will battle it out against Harris, Hunt and maybe Renshaw for the vacent opener spot(s).

I saw a quote from Ronald where he said Trav will open the remainder of this series

He's not the answer moving forward though, it does seem ridiculous that our most consistent batter over the past 6 months loses his #5 spot, it makes sense for him to open in India though so he is facing pace to get his eye in before being exposed to his weakness.

It has Greg Blewett written all over it, although the Blew Boy was moved up so Ponting could move down, I kinda think that worked out well for Australian cricket.

Agree in India it makes sense for him to open but anywhere else number 5 is his spot where the ball isn't moving as much, and he can play his natural game.

Tactics in most sports around the world trend....i wonder if we will see teams try and play bazball if England continue there winning streak.

Although I wasn't a great batter I scored my runs generally at well over a run a ball, especially when I opened and the field was up, I loved facing the first ball as it was generally pitched up and outside off, I'd have it pre-meditated that it was going straight over point or gully's head, quite often for 6 if the bowler was quick enough.

I always had the theory that there was a ball that was gonna get me out, I just wanted to score as many as I could before that ball came. If you are a flambouyant run scorer then bat that way, here we are batting in fear struggling to pass 100, if it was a T20 we would've made 160-180, Trav is a prime example from his knock in Brisbane and then Nagpur.

Interesting Michael DiVenuto is our batting coach. Accomplished cricketer who i enjoyed watching in his day.

Given he never played test cricket and wasn't around for the t20 era. Did he ever bat in India....? Maybe in some of his ODI appearances.

I will have to try and re-like Bancroft, he'll have a huge dark cloud hovering over him for his whole career now so he needs to be really resilient, he is our next best option though.

Yeah, in the same boat.

I mean I think the bloke was 'put' in a position that he should never have been put in by Warner, Smith and co... which is one reason why i can come around to liking him.

BUT the bloke is a grown man and knows right from wrong. Without being in his position its hard to know what any of would have done albeit i know we would like to think what we would have done.

This is my take, when you're in your 8th test match and trying to establish yourself as a test cricketer there should be something inside of you that says "na mate, I'm not doing that"

His actions when he got caught were equally as embarrassing.

He reminds me of the dude off of "The Shawshank Redemption" The one they shot after they found out he knew who killed Dufresne's alleged victim.

What does it do for team spirit, bonding or planning?

Why did Agar even go, what a kick in the nuts for them to fly Kuhners over and play in front of him, then open the batting.

How did we send so many injured players over?

A bit of a Goldilocks story, Langer too hard, Ronald and Palm Tree Patty too soft, I think it's Punter time.

I reckon Australia will now show some intestinal fortitude.
Starc & Green in will make a big difference,
Warner out is good for both the team & the public.
The sweep will be banned & we will get close in the third test & win the 4th one.

Then we'll retain the Ashes because the poms think they can just bazball us but it won't work.
