And on top of Harry being injured, Cameron resigns from GWS. Almost the perfect storm.

Little to worry about in hindsight. Great win despite another injury.

Sam Walsh is expected to miss the opening month of the 2023 AFL season after undergoing back surgery. Walsh underwent a micro-discectomy on Thursday night - a procedure that involves the removal of portions of a bulging disc to relieve pressure on a spinal nerve.
The lengthy recovery period will see Walsh miss the start of Carlton's home and away campaign, with the club reluctant to set a date for his return to the side. Carlton previously announced the 22-year-old would take a break from pre-season training until after the holiday period, insisting his home and away season would not be affected. However, on Friday the club confirmed it had been consulting with specialists for several months to remedy the issue - agreeing surgery was the best course of action. While the procedure is minimally invasive, Walsh's rehabilitation course could take months.

I don't know much about back surgery but generally speaking having surgery on your back couldn't be a good thing, surely?

For someone who prides themselves on running I'd suggest he's a mile back from where he'd like to be this time of year. So I suspect he'll have a slow start to the season when he does eventually hit the field.

I had to look this up because I didn't know what a disc-ectomy was;

"Microdiscectomy, also sometimes called microdecompression or microdiskectomy, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed on patients with a herniated lumbar disc. During this surgery, a surgeon will remove portions of the herniated disc to relieve pressure on the spinal nerve column.

A microdiscectomy is not effective in relieving back pain.

The typical time to a full recovery is about 6 weeks."

Similar thing to what Gunston had I reckon. Could be a year long recovery.

Having a pre season to forget.

They have also lost Sam Philp (2 games) with stress fractures and surgery of the foot. Tricky to get right. Still no timeline on a possible return for Walsh either.

Mrs C works in a primary school in the inner-ish North Eastern ‘burbs of Melbourne.

Carlton zone.

Today they had a few players come in to run a coaching session. So the boys need to sign in at the front office.

SOS comes in, and Mrs C says…. You are taller than you look on TV.

SOS has a laugh… nice young man, so she tells me!!

Is there a more of a crab mustard club as there is as Carlton, Imagine how good they'd be if they weren't greedy cheats and got to play on the swings like the rest of the kindergarten.
