Excellent season from him after not being selected for the first couple of games. Unlike most of the Redbacks batters, he doesn’t look streaky at the crease and has shown an excellent temperament. He keeps improving and goes into next season having secured 1st drop, knowing he belongs and the batting line up can be built around him. Has the skill, ticker and the cricket brain to keep taking his game to higher levels which is great for SA.

West Torrens had a club function at the Bodyline Bar earlier in the season around the time the Shield season had started and Drew had been left out of the side. I remember looking out the window from the bar towards the ground towards the end of the night and he was standing outside, looking out to the middle of Adelaide Oval, shadow batting and visioning what was to come. I’m not sure if he could picture scoring an unbeaten double century and finishing only behind Cameron Bancroft for most Shield runs, but he made it happen!

In the one-day competition.

Tye only played 9 career first class matches, with the last coming 5 years ago.

Victoria 7/185 from 82.5
After recently tuning in to this session I was trying to work who's commentating with Brendon Julian and it took me awhile, I could recognise his voice but couldn't put a name to it and it was annoying me- Dan Christian!
