Good catch was it?

Did not see the actual catch. I am sure the fielder will give you an unbiased description much later tonight.

He had gloves on…

Just had a video call from up on Col Waite. The boys are up and about. Big night at Parky tonight I’d say…

Think about 9 overs left, so need about 11-12 runs an over. Everyone on the boundary, no hope

Cricket lacks a lot of common sense.

1. Why take the tea break?
2. Why not play until it’s too dark?
3. Why could play go on next door on the D Grade oval and the umpires go off in the 1st Grade?

Kensington deserve to go through thanks to finishing top, but a combination of the laws and interpretation of the laws, as well as the weather, has ruined this semi final.

Agree with all that, and that Kensy get the benefit of finishing top, well done to them and hope they smash Uni.

Add this one also, they bowled 17 overs in two hours, deliberately taking six minutes to bowl an over, that is taking the pi55 and umps did nothing.

All that. But Capel may have wanted to bat with a tad more urgency.

Have a third day available for the Grand Final only if required.

May have played to the weather forecast of rain late afternoon, then run rate was not urgent. Did not see any play for the day, but going by stats you maybe spot on.

Yep, that’s the main reason. Grand Final bit different as most players would plan to have the Monday off anyway to celebrate if they won.

Play was on again, off again, which also allowed the 2 opening bowlers to bowl the first 20 odd overs of the innings. Smith and Drew got out knicking at drives. Capel played well against a good bowling line up. Given it was only drizzle all day, hard to predict you’d only have 30 overs bowled before 6pm. The tea break was the killer as covers went on and needed for rain to stop before they could get on again. Otherwise could’ve played through that period. Kensington played it smart - took it slow, defensive fields. Hard for Capel to get any momentum and by the time they came back after 6 - it was an impossible task in the 2-day format.

One that got away for West Torrens after bowling well and looking solid enough with the bat.

At the end of the day, Kensington rewarded for their superior season, including defeating West Torrens outright in a game that at the time was for top spot.

From a West Torrens point of view - really good to see Drew, Johnson, Nielsen and Smith finish the season playing both formats for the Redbacks and hopefully they all take their games to another level again next year and the next crop of players come through 1st Grade to ensure we’re competitive in what should be a high quality Div 1 competition.

Should certainly have the option of playing Monday in semi finals. Teams spend 6 months trying to make finals. To have a couple of hours of drizzle write off half a year's work is brutal
