Also not surprised, Port are always on people's minds regardless if they're playing or not

There is an element of 'novelty' in that people want to see a 50/50 clash locally, given the normal 80/20 type crowd at Adelaide Oval.

I said to a mate tonight that I used to go to many games in Melbourne where my team wasn't part of the game so I could witness the game through independent eyes. Adelaide and Port supporters are clueless in relation to this aspect because it's either 100% home or 100% away. Even if they play here, it's still not a 50/50. I did appreciate the build up to the game last night where it wasn't completely an Adelaide build up.

I also said that I would love to have seen ahead of the popularity of Gather Round and booked tickets to see all games in one round... all 9 of them. I mean what is the chances of this happening again? Maybe next year??

So not one Adelaide or Port supporter has ever been to a game with a 50/50 crowd? I have a sneaking suspicion this is not right.

How do you normally have an 80/20 split with either 100% home or 100% away?

Besides showdowns when was the last game at Adelaide Oval or Football park that had an 80/20 split?

One thing that is 100% is that the Adelaide and Port supporters have the courage to support their local side.

Looks grim. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad and, more importantly, the beers are easy to come by.

Radar looks promising but it is cold. Driza-Bone, beanie & scarf on. About to search for a stout…
