There is an element of 'novelty' in that people want to see a 50/50 clash locally, given the normal 80/20 type crowd at Adelaide Oval.
I said to a mate tonight that I used to go to many games in Melbourne where my team wasn't part of the game so I could witness the game through independent eyes. Adelaide and Port supporters are clueless in relation to this aspect because it's either 100% home or 100% away. Even if they play here, it's still not a 50/50. I did appreciate the build up to the game last night where it wasn't completely an Adelaide build up.
I also said that I would love to have seen ahead of the popularity of Gather Round and booked tickets to see all games in one round... all 9 of them. I mean what is the chances of this happening again? Maybe next year??
