The quiet member of the C9 commentary team .

The South Adelaide Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former player, Ron Kitchen.

Ron made his debut for South Adelaide in Round 1, 1956 against Glenelg at Kensington Oval as player #990.

Before he made the move to the Panthers, Ron played for Ballarat in which his last game was the 2-goal win against East Ballarat in the 1954 BFL Grand Final.

Over his six seasons with South Adelaide, Ron played 101 games kicking 68 goals and was best known for his impressive strength, confidence and excellent high marking skills.

He represented South Australia at the 1958 Melbourne carnival, and played a total of three interstate matches, kicking four goals.

After he retired from playing, Ron spent a few seasons as General Manager of Norwood.

The South Adelaide Football Club passes on its condolences to Ron's family and friends.

remember him commentating, didnt call the main game very often
