JHF - Everyone wins?

Postby Rik E Boy » Mon Apr 17, 2023 4:12 pm

If Hinkley is successful and he gets the fans of his back, the JHF scenario could be a situation where everyone wins. Adelaide tried a multi-pick deal to snare JHF and bring him home as a Crow. Instead they ended up with Rachelle, Dawson and Rankine (through on traded picks). Port Adelaide gained a prized recruit who is growing exponentially before our very eyes. While North might have initially felt aggrieved they ended up with Wardlaw and Sheezel who looks to be just as good as JHF already. They were never after Cadman so they look like they've done well in the end, after all, JHF was not a good fit for their club so they moved forward.

The final winners are the media. They can generate sensational click-bait bullshit but can only continue to do so at the expense of the young man himself. Public opinion should eventually swing around to JHF's favour (and Ollie Henry who is copping similar), so that if the media realise the outrage has a limited shelf-life, then everyone can be the winner.

regards,

Agree, last thing you want is a player who doesn't want to be there and doesn't buy into your environment, Sheezel's output so far has softened the blow significantly, Wardlaw looks like a jet and we have Port 1st rounder in December also.

100% agree with this.
No doubt the lad can play, that was obvious back in his days at South, he will have a long and successful career.

I wonder had he found his way to Carlton, Melbourne, Richmond or if North had taken the deal from Adelaide would he have still requested the trade?
I suspect he would have because it seems like he only ever wanted to play for Port but maybe it would have taken an extra year.
Trust the process.
