Great Friday :

Hit the gym in the morning before picking out the Ascot and Geelong quaddies over some hot X buns.

About midday I'll get the charcoal ripping to get the ribs in the smoker. 3 hours @ 225°F spritzing with apple juice and apple cider vinegar after 30 minutes. Beer. Spritz in 30 minutes. Beer. Repeat 6 times.

Put the chorizo and dusted wings in.

Get the ribs out, wrap them in foil meat side down with brown sugar, butter and apple juice, seal up and in the smoker for 2 hours at 225°F to braise. Do not open them. Beers.

Get the ribs out, flip them meat side up and baste with BBQ sauce a few times over an hour. Beer.

Take the ribs, chorizo and wings inside and get down.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

A couple of the young blokes from the local cricket club I am tied up with pulling on the footy boots this winter.

They will be playing in the Essendon District Footy League - 3rds!

They play on a Friday night most weeks, round 1 this week.

A few lads (and this old fart) are heading over for a look, and most likely many, many laughs, as 1 of them has never played before. Talks a big game though.

I actually do hope they go well. I don't expect it to be a very good standard, and how many players are out on day release will be interesting.

Enjoyable couple of hours at the local footy last night.

Poor skills but plenty of endeavour.

The lad in his first game kicked a handy sausage in the last quarter. Glenroy got a bit of a touch up on the night.
