Sturt had the lion's share of the play in the final term. I rather think Central would've been lucky if they had pinched it.

Loved the retro dogs guernsey. Was there a reason it was worn today?

Our away strip all year, Pseudo. We probably shouldn't use it against Sturt though ;)

Fair comment. The '80s jumper would've made a good away guernsey against each of the other 7 teams.

Don’t know what it was like at the game but on TV the guernsey clash was terrible.

Agreed. Sturt got a couple of lucky ones in the last imho.

Great effort from the dogs. But a hollow feeling not walking away with the 2 points

Again led by a great defensive unit. Jezza was the outstanding Doggie, repelling many attacks and setting up plenty of movement, all while keeping Slimming down to 3 ineffective possessions.
Harry Grant had a great first half, and Chisholms battle with Wilson was enthralling.

Got closer than I anticipated but as already mentioned, always disappointing to lose the close ones particularly after leading by 3 plus goals early on..
Felt we lacked a bit of leg speed.. perhaps Olsson or Carroll a consideration. Still think Habel is wasted in the ressies also who still has a bit of dash left in the old legs..

I'd probably have Habel or Carroll in for East next week. Habel experience and good ball use. Use to be a goal kicking forward for us early in his career. Team did well, unlucky in the end.

A sign of the Dogs persistence and desire was they managed to get so close despite a 33 to 46 deficit in Inside 50s.

The reserves proved this is a trait for the entire squad, winning despite an amazing 27 to 49 Inside 50 count against them.

Sure, we have collected some handy inclusions this season, but the mindset and work ethic across the whole playing group is probably the greatest change in 2023.

They're sitting 2nd as well, nine games in.

Early days but also 2nd in the Bs, top in the 18s.

Not much between the teams really. Sturt put in a poor first quarter but, from their perspective, found a way to get a win when a few players struggled to get into the game.
Well done to Centrals players and Thommo for visiting the new function room at Unley and sharing a beer with their opponents. Lots of respect between the two teams.

Agreed.

Marty and Paul were team-mates at the Crows as rookie listed players in 2002.
