How many training sessions are the SA team going to be having together? 3? 4?

Will have the same trainings they always have, and always get the win.

Said this couple of months ago, but what a ridiculous time to play the game, around 3pm on a Friday at Adelaide Oval with nobody watching. Will really inspire the players, what a disgrace!

^ this. The game has been made inaccessible to those who might care, in order to expose the game to an audience which does not give a stuff. I note the further irony in having part-time players suit up during business hours while the full time professionals play later.

Geez that is the most baffling state squad I've ever seen. Some howling non-selections to go with the strange selections. No Coombe is just nuts, he's pretty much the best mid in the SANFL and has been for years and is still in form. McBean not exactly dominant but gets in on reputation.

Turner picked after 3 games, Casalini 1 good game, Iles picked but Spina somehow overlooked. Brooksby the clear 2nd best ruck behind Boyd. Rhokar, Battersby, Patmore, Hoskin, Park all would have a case.

Should be a good game though, always a highlight of the year for me.

We started 0-10

Funnily enough we have had a couple of seasons where we have only won 1 game for the season but the lone win came in the opening few rounds

Congratulations to former poster CK on being awarded calling duties of the State game alongside John "goes to work" Casey. Well earned reward.

Man in form based on his call last week.

Spoke to a President of a WAFL club last night who is coming over for the game. He and others over there are baffled at the timing of it. When I suggested a Saturday afternoon game at either Glenelg or Norwood oval - he nodded.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Baffling is the correct word.

The SANFL couldn't peddle their arses on a troop ship.

I think some people are losing sight of the fact that our main purpose to exist nowadays is to build pathways to the elite level. If you are mug enough (as I am) to shell out money in memberships and actually care about the winning and losing aspect then good on ya! AO will be very convenient and civilised for the various AFL scouts etc..
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

BIG responsibility on WA this weekend to beat NW
WA can administer a sleeping pill by beating and putting NW to sleep in 2023
This in turn will give great relief to the 4 Premiership winning hopes AC/GL/NA/ST

Very true, Mal. This may not be a norMAL comment but can you so easily rule out the team that defeated two of those teams and lost to a third by just three points on their postage stamp of a ground? We play the fourth of those sides in two weeks. We dare to dream! ;)

Not willing to make any predictions until after the midseason draft...can seriously derail a season.

Adelaide Crows, Central Districts and South Adelaide have had tough draw so far this season
They are the 3 clubs that have not played Norwood yet

Until we play them, I will still be worried that we will be the first team they will beat this season!

And that's the reality with a new team, inconsistency.
I expect we will be 5 and 4 at the halfway point but you just never know.

mid season draft only 2 weeks away and doesn't seem to be much discussion as of yet, usually some of the better performers would be highlighted by now, maybe no standouts?
