Right result, they have been far better than us again. Vestry has done well so far but needs to get some skilled players in to take the next step. Defenders are putrid

We're only good with long balls though, perhaps AU need to stop opening their mouths and play the game?
What a night and what a great crowd! A win for those who choose hard teams to follow and not easy teams.

Jim, I need your advice, best to stay in Sydney CBD and train it out to Parra or shall I stay in Parra?

When I go to Eels games I stay at the Novotel Parramatta. It’s right across the road from the stadium pretty much

Parramatta is a mini city in itself. Plenty of good eateries and bars for afterwards.
The Parra Leagues club is brilliant too and the stadium is absolutely fantastic.

Uber is between $70-100 each way depending on time of day and if I’ve got luggage that is my preference.
Train is very easy and if I just go with small luggage I use it. Costs about $20 each way and will take a bit over an hour. At the domestic terminal take the T8 airport train into Central station and change platforms to the T1 West line. Trains are very frequent and get off at Parramatta station. The station is at the big Westfield shopping centre and it’s a 10 minute walk to the Novotel from there.

Thanks heaps mate, yeah I have plenty of time on the Saturday and just have hand luggage so might train it there and uber it back the next morning.
I just read that you can use credit cards on the trains, nice!
Any pubs recommended?

Commercial Hotel has the best sports bar in the area and is about a 10 minute walk from the Hotel. The area has been gentrified and now full of Uni students and yuppies so plenty of bars and restaurants but a lack of real quality pubs. Commercial Hotel and the Albion are the pick of the bunch.
Parra leagues club does great pub food and Sterlo’s Bar is a great sports bar but shuts at 10pm

Well done to Craig Goodwin in winning the Johnny Warren Medal.
Well doen to Carl Veart on getting Coach of the Year.
While I expected it to go to Monty having seen Carl since his debut for Adelaide City so many years ago now it was good to see him get some recognition.

I think Goody winning the medal was a no-brainer. Brandon Borello (also a South Australian) who finished second also had a fantastic season.

Jim, why does everyone on Sydney trains talk to themselves?
For someone who hasn't caught a train for well over 20 years it's pretty disconcerting.

I generally avoid PT but yes it’s similar here too. The trains definitely have some weird units on them

Now you tell me!
Ironically some guy asked me where the train stopped and I had no idea.

Anyway I made it to Parra safely, currently sipping a real pint of Balters at the Crown Hotel in Church St.
Plenty of blue and yellow around but have only seen one Man City shirt.
Good to see beer prices are good here, much better than Melbourne!

Was a bit disconcerting when I got to Parra station and couldn't get out as they said I didn't need a ticket as I had a GF ticket when I got on.
Only problem was there was no staff to show it to to get out.
Anyway this old duck jumped a turnstile and did a runner, got a few looks too!

Found out that Monty wasn't eligible as he got a red card during the season. At least that explains that result.

Lol City.

Would've liked to have seen a 7th TBH. How were there only 3 added minutes in the second half?
