Hopefully there's no grass on the pitch too!

Australia will win 5-0 and Bazball will be consigned to history. If Ali can't bowl because of a blister, they can't play him at Lords. We've seen Lyon put up with that sort of injury his whole career and continue to bowl and bowl well. Tim May used to bowl with it. Ali being unable to contribute more in the 2nd innings cost them the game. So did Bairstow's keeping. If Foakes is an excellent keeper, he must come in and Bairstow plays as a batsman. Foakes couldn't be much worse with the bat than any of England's top 3?

Green bowled 8 overs for the game. We can afford to play Starc and should. Barring any sort of injury or horrible form, I would have Starc in for Boland for the Lords Test and then Boland come in for Hazlewood for the 3rd Test.

Smith and Labuschagne contributed less than 40 runs in the 1st Test. Not a chance that happens again.

Hopefully win the toss and bat for 2 days. I think these flat wickets fall in to our favour. In Khawaja, Smith and Labuschagne, we have some of the most patient, long haul batters in the game and England's kamikaze style means we don't need to worry about running out of time.

The early signs point this way.

whufc wrote:Its fun but i think there is a bit of an overreaction from us Aussies about bazball being a failure. 6 months ago this England side could barely survive 3 days with this Aussie team and they almost took the first test.

18 months ago, you mean?

I think we'd still rip through them if this series was being played at home.

Hey Brodlach,

Bit off topic but is it true your son is being mentored by one of the best administrators in sport in this country. What an unbelievable development opportunity if true. He will be CEO by the time he is 30.

Hey @Wristwatcher.

I believe that’s a fact, although I’d watch my back if I was you

Bazball is for bullying the minnows not Australia.

First innings declaration was bizarre, second innings slogging even worse.

If the poms want to continue with that brand of cricket we'll beat them 5-0.

No changes for Lords unless there's an injury.

Pitch will be the same as Edgbaston. And so will be the result.

We wouldn't get close to you if we play your brand of cricket as you are simply much better at it with the talent at your disposal. We also destroyed India in the test we played against them last year so not sure it's just minnows we'd be able to beat. This is just a really good Australian side, I'd say the best since the mid 2000s.

Get the violin out Jimmy
Better speak to your skipper and the ECB if you don’t want doctored pitches

To be a fly on the wall between the Stoke / Anderson conversations.

Neither would take a backward step. Would be great viewing.
