So now Kane wants the Bulldogs to move their coach on come seasons end, hate to tell ya Kane, he's done better than your former coach as he has a premiership

He's not wrong though, Beveridge is Teflon and has been for a long time, the premiership was 7 years ago, the GF was covid year*, the guy cant coach but thinks he's one of the greatest of all time and their list management is one of the worst in the comp. They probably have the most talented top 6 of any team but by having this they have to pay peanuts to their bottom 6. The bottom 6 week in week out would struggle to get a game at North or Hawthorn, even West Coast. You cant even call them role players, they are so bad. So who do you blame for this situation? It has to fall on the coach and list management.
They have done nothing to improve this situation over the last 5 years or so.

The wildcard discussion is back on the table again.

We just don't need it. Fullstop, end of story. So it'll happen because the AFL thunk it up (via the NBA).

It's BS. If you aren't good enough to make the top 8, get off.

On the contrary, if you are in 7th or 8th and are not good enough to beat 9th or 10th to make the finals, you shouldnt be there either.
It will happen.

Would Geelong get a home playoff if they came 7th or 8th?

Next the AFL will be handing out participation ribbons to the teams that miss out so that their feelings aren’t hurt

Could the ribbons be in team colours?

When is the discussion about handing all squad members a premiership medallion gonna come up again.
That idea is just as bad.

Leave the game alone!

It's American bs.
The 8th placed team is usually kicked out convincingly in the elimination final.
So let's say 10th snuck in after a fluke win.
Whoever plays them is basically getting a bye round in a final.

Yep, however players want more money, need to generate more revenue, so something needs to give. Couple more games for a play in tournament and generate the $$$

I don't like the idea of a "wildcard round" but anything is better than the current "pre finals bye" which I think kills the momentum of the season.
Dave Warner will be missed!
