Mate played Sandy Creek last week.
Said for the most part the course was good nick and the greens were quick.
He said there were a couple of greens that had issues but overall he said it was good.

Going to get out and play somewhere on Sunday with the good weather and son has a bye in footy, in a fortnights time we are heading to KI and going to hit the Kingscote scrapes! Going to head out and take a look at the Cliffs site also if I get the chance

Played the Pat last Sunday. Stableford. Had a sore shoulder/neck for the previous few days and still wasnt 100% but had a go.

Course was very wet, a few puddles scattered on the fairways.

First 4 holes were a disaster, Drive on 1 plonked into the bunker on right and got greedy getting out, straight into the lip. Scrubbed after missing a 4 foot point putt. 7. Second hole a scrub after 3 bunker shots. 3rd and 4th marginally better but only 1 point on each.

Decided I was swinging purely to look after my shoulder- changed to swinging hard and actually hitting the dam thing. Smoked the tee shot of the Par 3 5th to 12 foot and narrowly missed. From the 5th to the 18th scored 36 points including 23 on the back 9.

Wouldn't say I played brilliantly but wedges and approach shots were very good. Putting solid.

Winner had 42 with 4 birdies so I was happy with the 38 (2 birdies).

Next game Murray Bridge in 3 weeks

Flaggy

Stroke

Driver behaved itself for the most part, outside of 18 where we rushed to beat the rain.
Irons were fairly solid.
Putting was the letdown.
Few tap ins on back of putter turned a ridiculous amount... there were 4 of those
Found a few bunkers and despite trying to take sand just picked the ball cleanly. On the 7th in bunker, then into the dam...
Lost 2 other balls. 1 on the 6th, hit a tree near green and didn't see it drop.
18th in the rush. Could have found them but keep the game moving
97.

Much better this morning
33 points
2 wipes.
One on the 11th. Similar spot to yesterday at back of green but today the ball didn't roll out.
Then 17th, pushed the 3i into the trees and kept walking.

Got out to the Vines today with 3 mates, all very rusty, started on the back 9 and hit the green with my first shot of the day much to my surprise, then 3 putts  only real highlight was hitting 3-4 really nice drives, great to get out again and have a beer or 2 after the round.

Vines is in great nick considering the wet winter, its going to look a treat once the sun starts shining again.

Flaggy yesterday
31 points
Only 1 scrub the 7th... played in the sand for too long.
Driver was more consistent. Fairly happy with that result.

Thaxted this morning. 35pts playing off 11. 8 pars helped the day.
Driver was again really consistent.
Putting was fairly good for me as well

Stableford Saturday
29 Points

I just couldn't get anything going. Course does play a lot tougher this time of the year, but no excuses. Course Super now cuts the greens the day before comps and rolls them the morning of the comp, which makes for super quick greens.

Pins were in 'tricky' positions, therefore the scoring wasn't great right across the board, but with that being said 29 points is horrible.

Back on the horse Tuesday, stableford again.

I could basically duplicate the above post, exactly the same scenario this morning.

29 Points, although i was a lot better with Driver this morning. Wedges were terrible.

Time in the range badly needed, just to get my feel back.

Having said the range is overrated I do need to get down to west beach for the trackman and try to work out the distances on the old clubs.
The sw goes nowhere, feels like it's something like a 66° wedge lol

I'm pulling my short irons, simply must be a set up thing. Alignment sticks in the range should straighten it up pretty quickly.

With this being said, we have one of our prestigious trophies is commencing next Saturday (Handicap match play) and i have a flag dropping off, this could help lol ;)

A dark, grey, pea souper was on the menu this morning and it hung around for basically 16 of the 18 holes.
There were holes where we couldn't even see 50m in front of us. Strained our eyes to see if we could find shadows moving up ahead before we hit.
Despite the haunting atmosphere, the golf was surprisingly good. The fog may have helped to concentrate to keep the drives straight to save hunting on trees when once we smashed them they disappeared out of vision.
32 points.
56° did a good job in the sand today.
Found 5 bunkers and escaped them in one for a change.
The baffler got a late call up. Adjusted it to 19°. Still needs some work, they are all starting far too far out to the right before drawing back.Image

Winners were nett 62.5 (Handicap of 1 and 37)

Stroke this Saturday, which is the qualifying round for one of our major trophies.

I had a shocker yesterday.
Putting was horrible. Never felt comfortable.
Been trying to improve around the greens with runners and little chip shots but just couldn't find any rhythm.
Driving for most part was solid.
The baffler again, causing a few issues. The start line is far to right of intended line. Then I make the adjustment and it started straight and turned into trouble[emoji1787][emoji1787] great game

Played at Kingscote GC last week, only 9 holes, $15 in the honour box, reminded me of growing up on the Moonta scrapes when staying at my Grandparents over school holidays.

Nice little course with not much relief if you go into the tree lines, hit a 49 which was OK, nearly every hole on the front 9 has OOB to the left. Highlight was nearly hitting my first hole in one on the 138m 6th, hit a high 7 iron that bounced 1 metre in front of the pin and rolled past the hole by no more than 3mm, it was agonising to see the ball path on the scrape  made the putt for birdie which was a small consolation.

Looking to play somewhere this week as Im still on leave
